What sucked about it? I love those slightly corny big budget films (e.g. Pearl Harbour). But if it just flat out sucks I'm not going to waste my money ;).

But... is the movie a true image of the book ?(Iliada in spanish, by the greek writter Homer, go and read it, if not look for a nice little summary of the book.)

Or is another great story that went terribly wrong?

hope it isn't another example of you enfants terribles of not knowing about great authors and making questions like this:
"Is she going to die? " (a true statment made in the Romeo & Juliet movie, feat. Leo Dicapio (just hated this version of the book))

Alright, Lets see, where to start.

There are all kinds of divergences from Homer, and its not just small things either. Being a classics major this bothers me immensely. Paris survives, Andromache and Helen escape, there's this whole made-up "sword of Troy" bullshit that I won't even get into, according to hollywood, the trojan war only took a couple of weeks, Agammemnon is a power hungry monster etc..

Then there's the script, which was so bad at some points that the audience was laughing... Not to mention Orlando Bloom's overacting every single line.

The battles aren't even that impressive, either. I honestly can't see where they go the R rating from, the violence isn't really that graphic, and the nudity isn't really nudity.

Come now...did you really think that Brad Pitt could play a believable Greek epic hero?

I think alot of people thought this film was going to be better than Gladiator.I haven't seen it yet...Is Eric Banna any good?

Actually, Eric Bana and (Surprisingly) Brad Pitt are pretty good, mroe than anything, they're hampered by bad writing. That being said, Orlando Bloom is inexcusable.
