Local Honda dealer offered me Honda Civic Type R NEW for 18200 EUR (200hp, any color, xenon, 3 YEARS WARRANTY and no stereo ) + 1150 EUR air condition in case I need it :) (in Germany new Type R costs more than 22 k)
So is it worth to give my 2000 Audi A4 tdi 150 hp (10000 EUR now) and pay all those additional $ for it ? :)
I'm askinge because I'm tired of my audi and need a change. But it has 2 be 4 seater so I could put baby seat in the back.
Or is it better to go for used: 1996-98 M3 (can be cabrio), 1998-00 Audi S4, 1998 M5 (good ones come for 25000), what else ????? R32, Alfa GTA ???

I did a test drive in Type R and I can tell that it handles a way better than my brothers M3. We even did a small drag where M3 showed that it's a way faster on the straight.

So, I'm confuzed, don't know what to do :? Any suggestions :)

And yes one more thing. My wife will drive it 60 % of time while I will pay for the petrol. And its 12 l Civic, 17 l M3, 19 l Audi, 20 l M5 :D

id choose either the m3, s4, or m5 depends on ur style and what ur looking for , but for me the civic is at the bottom of that list, even if the type R is new.... i guess it depends if u need to have a new car or not.

As you are from Lithuania must consider one more thing:snow.Your weather is quite similar to ours so it better if its a 4wd.And like you said your wife will use it 60% then it has to be 4wd.Also you can have enormous fun on frozen lake with 4wd.So i suggest s4,better get the sti. :D I have talked to one man who owns Civic R and he says that it is quite good in the winter also. But still if you care from your wife then go for the s4.It does`t lose its value also so quickly like Civic.BMW are rwd so they aren`t very good in snow.

My default choice would be an M5 but as you will be in winter conditions I would strongly advise the S4 :D

Type R is for real JDM lovers :|

id say go for the civic TYPE R.they are nice cars and pretty big for a hatchback.

but also the other cars your interested in are pretty sweet and faster.and between choosing either a civic or M3,is there really a choice? :D

S4,

I would never compare a FWD with RWD or AWD. It's a whole different culture!
If it's about the one and only car in the family I would buy the M3 or the S4 (more family like).
But from the S4 I wouldn't expect much more than the Audi that you already own besides that S4 is much faster in the straight.
I'm a Japanese car lover but even more a RWD lover.
I would recommend the M3 as the more 'Classy' for my kind of style...
The M5 is too much I believe...
The Type-R is too sporty for the kind of use you need. Very agile very nervous, you can't relax in it.

We are discussing norwegian car taxes in an other thread. here you see why: In Norway the Civic type R costs 44 168 €!!!

I love M3's. With a good driver the snow shouldn't be too much of a problem. I don't know how experienced you and your wife are with RWD on snow.

of course the more expensive german cars are better..
but these are s4's , m3's which cannot be compared to a civic, even if its an R. drive all the cars u like.. and find the car that fits your budget.. of course the civic would be better on petrol.. but if u can get a s4,m3,m5, i dont think petrol wil lreally matter.
