View Full Version : New RUF video! - now on dvd...
Hello everyone,
I take it most of you - hopefully - are now familar with 'Faszination On The Nurburgring'...
Given the fact that I've got a copy of this fantastic video on VHS shipped over from RUF themselves in West Germany, a member here (brettdavis) was interested to obtain a copy also.
After emailing RUF, they informed Brett that they no longer produce the video  , however  , they are about to release a new DVD with not only 'Faszination On The Nurburgring' from 1990 with the RUF CTR, but also, a brand new RUF TURBO R at the same track, with the same crazy factory test driver (Stefan Roser)!!! + more!!!!!!!! :D
After hearing this great news from Brett, I emailed RUF to immediately order a copy :D
p.s
I'll get back to you on this one when it arrives and let you know how it compares to the original video.
Very nice.Ruf turbo R is one of my dreamcars.

A 'Ruf Yellowbird watch'! - cool :)

$148  :) - Ruf hasn't disappointed me in the past, so I wouldn't expect them to start now...however, the original 'Faszination On The Nurburgring' is a VERY hard act to follow so it'll be interesting to see what they've come up with...

cool info, I love RUF! porschah:P
Hi Guys :)
Got the following info today:
"At the Essen Motor Show we introduced our latest model, the RUF Rt12. We did not expect such an overwhelming response of the international press and of our customers. The number of inquires for our new Rt12 has heen so high that we had already produced a short film before introducing the Rt12 in the market.
We would like to present this film also on the new RUF DVD.
Therefore the delivery of the DVD has been delayed to spring of 2005. We would like to kindly ask you for your understanding and we thank you very much for your patience. I will get in touch with you as soon as we receive the DVD."
Dear N.J.,
Thank you very much for your e-mail.
First and foremost I really want to apologise for all the delays with the DVD.
Finally we just received the new DVD here!
The price has also changed a little bit so instead of Euro 89,95 it costs Euro 69,-- plus shipping costs. The shipping costs are as follows:
within Europe 4,-- Euro
world 8,-- Euro
As we received 89,95 Euro from you in spring 2004 please let us know how you want us to send you the more-paid money back. If you wish we can make a credit card transfer or give you the over paid money in form of some merchandising products back.
Please accept again my apologies. Thank you so much for your understanding.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I am looking forward to assisting you!
Best regards,
Claudia Ellenrieder

So now that the DVD finally arrived with over a year of delay ( ) maby it´s possible to rip it for the JW members cause 69€ for a DVD are extremely expensive...
Hello everyone,
I'll get back to you on this one when it arrives and let you know how it compares to the original video.
...Well, the dvd finally arrived today!
I've just finished watching it for the 3rd time in a row! (can't watch it any more because its almost 1am in Australia and I've got to be up for work! :D
The dvd includes the original 'Faszination On The Nurburgring' video from 1989 - perhaps the greatest in car video next to 'Climb Dance' - featuring the Ruf CTR Yellowbird.
The other dvd which is included goes through Ruf's history with the absolute best bit right at the end :D ...Stefan Roser driving Ruf R Turbo at the Nordschliefe just like he did all those years ago.
I remember thinking that the original was so good that I just couldn't see anything getting near it.
I'm happy to report that Stefan Roser's lap was simply sensational! :D You really appreciate the improvement in video quality as well. He still goes as sideways and still burns his tyres on every opportunity. There are tonnes more camera angles too. He REALLY drove the wheels off that car!
***** out of *****.
The original video is the sentimental favourite, but this video is so good that I simply can't decide which is better...I'll settle for an honorable draw. :D
