Thanks Noosee. I am normally a car focussed enthusiast but this article was enthralling. The writers seemed quite passionate about the bikes. I feel most of the car articles (particularly the American mags) are very clinical and lack the requisite passion. However, I think Evo is pretty good.

Do you have any articles on the Italians - Ducatis, Aprilia, Cagiva, Moto Guzzi...

Have to admit I don't know as much about bikes as I should and articles like that help to show the bikes on offer. I still can't get over how cheap they are!

Good job... Great article... I justhave a look, not read in details.
I should focus on it, and after comparing the values with my bike, i will send some posts again I think ,-)
Thanks

Hi friends
I have just read the article and I need to write some comments.
First of all, some values are really ridiculous! For example, The top speed for GSX-R 1000 is written as 160,4mph but I did 309 kph with my stock GSX-R 1000.
And at 8th of this month, I will install my Power Commander, Akrapovic Evolution full Titaium exhaust system and K&N filter. Then I will tell the last situation. And for Yamaha R1, I think it is easy to come to 315kph...
Then, about hp values, the engine power ( not at wheels ofcourse) are 164 bhp for Gixxer 1000, 180 bhp for R1 ( with ramair )
And the most terrifying part is 0-60mph values!!!
They wrote for GSX-R 1000 that 0-60mph is 4.38s. I did 2.49s and one of my friends did 2.23s. And for R1, with a professional driver, these values should be lower...
The last for this time is that tank range... 162 miles for my Gixxer... I just laugh at... It is impossible to go over 190 km ( not miles )...
But thanks ofcourse for this great article... Especially the comments about brakes are true.
I would be glad if there are people who drive these 2004 bikes among us and want to share some informations.
Thanks

I just sold my '02 750 and in the next month will be getting an '04 R1. I will definately give a small review after some seat time.

Good choice but if you had continued with Suzuki, It will be better ;-)
It is joke. These 4 bikes ( 2004 ) are really the toys of the Devil.
I had tested ( not in limits, just for 4-5 minutes ) this morning the New Yamaha R1. It is interesting machine. Very very aggressive. The front tire doesn't touch the road much ;-)
I hope you will enjoy it and wait for reviews...

My weapon of choice would be the Fireblade, heard a lot of positive things about it, like reliability.
I hope to own one, in maybe 2 years or so.
