Rossi drove a F2003 at Fiorano and he is within 3 secs of MS's time. and beat Luca Badoer's time. He is simply amazing, and he said this is his first time on a single seater :roll: . This guy definietly has talent and I can't wait to see if he can race against MS on an equal machinery.

When he drove the Ferrari F1? Where have you read it? I don't think Yamaha let them drive this car just in the very start of the MotoGP season... :|

hmmm if he joins F1 i htink schumi has a new big threat...finally. Ofcourse i doubt he'll drive the 2nd ferrari till schumi's gone, but if he finds another team with a car more or less equal to schumi's, he can go for the championship. Must say i'd prefer Raikkonen to step up as the next champion though...

I don't think he beats Luca Badoer's time tho......and within 3 seconds in a short circuit (~1.5km) circuit is alot

(not that I think he sucks, I just think he won't be a threat toi schumi just yet even if he replaces Rubens)

well if its ur first couple of laps, i htink within a few days' practice it should be possible to cut off another second off that time, and if he would set himself to become a professional driver he should soon be very near to schumi's times, or atleast less than a second away, which is Barichello territory. And Barichello has been driving since '94 or something like that.

Schumi can constantly drive at the limits of the car......it's very different from one specific lap time.

I remember one of Schumi's bentton team mate, he said it's very easy to get times of 0.1 ~ 0.2 from schumi's time, but to get the remaining 0.1 ~ 0.2 s is almost impossible.....

hmmmmmmmm yeah u might be right...maybe im just too eager for a bit mroe competition in F1.
anyway he's a good driver, and i wouldnt mind having him in F1 because what ive seen of him hes a very nice guy

But for a new comer and immediately turning in some good laps is definielty worth praising. I thought the transition would be tough between 2 wheels and 4 wheels, but he proves me wrong

Today at Fiorano saw the shakedown of the cars that Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro will use in the forthcoming San Marino Grand Prix, scheduled for Sunday 25th April at the “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” circuit at Imola.

Luca Badoer and Michael Schumacher were on track. A total of 16 laps were completed, eight of them on the short version of the track. The best time on the day was a 58”433.

Also present at the shakedown was the MotoGP rider, Valentino Rossi who did a few laps at the wheel of one of the cars. "It was a very exciting day for me," declared Rossi. "Driving an F1 car was an amazing experience and it was great for me to follow in Schumacher's footsteps for a day. I would like to thank Ferrari for having given me this opportunity."

At the end of the day, Schumacher and Barrichello also did a few laps at the wheel of a Maserati MC12, which is undergoing a development test programme at the circuit this week.

nice pic altezza, I think he's blackmailing Schumi coz he saw Bernie telling Schumi to slow down at the upcoming Imola GP, and now Schumi is signing a check just to keep him quiet.

I think it would be pretty interesting to see a professional bike racer like Rossi competing in F1...it would be kind of fun to see the differences in how they handle the cars and where they are more inclined to take risks than regular F1 drivers.

Don't think many drivers were able to make a succesful switch from motorracing to single seater racing.
Tazio Nuvolari, Mike Hailwood and John Surtees spring to my mind. Where John Surtees was able to gain worldchampionships on both two and four wheels

Jeff Gordon also shone when he had a drive in the Williams FW25 last year. It will be nice to have champions from Nascar or MotoGP in F1 it will certainly bring in a new flavour and perspectives to the sport.

i don't know but i feel a little bit confused of this....i mean driving a bike and a formula car must not be the same...in fact it has to be completely different...i wrote the article at the newspaper gazzetta dello sport although it said that made a lap time around 1'07 when the circuit record is around 56'.....
