American car insurance?

Right, it is obvious that car insurance is cheaper over the pond, but how much cheaper?

So, if you are an American with car insurance, post your car with engine size and rough bhp along with your age e.t.c most importantly, what are you paying?

I am 21 on a 1.25 fiesta 2 years no claims bonus. Fully comp insurance with road side recovery:

In Canada Ontario Toronto Id be paying 30k for a 360...

but in australia they don't look at engine size or hp rating. well not in great detail. they look at driving records, age, where you live, how its parked and the record history of the car. especailly the last detail.

one car with 2L may pay 500GDP and the other 2L car may pay double/triple if every other variable is the same.

thats why rexs are so expensive to insure because ppl steal them or stupidity overcomes common sense and crahes them.

Oh and my boss pays 2400CDN thats 1800US per year for some 6000$ SUV. And that is a very cheap rate. He is 30 and this is his first car in Canada. Again this is a very cheap rate.

Another friend of my'n has a brand new jeep liberty he is 25 and pays around 7000$CDN a year.

Well...I am only a secondary driver on my mom's Olds Alero (3.4 L V6...doesn't really matter), and I pay somewhere around 1100 CND/year. If I were to drive the car on my own ( I don't have any claims), it would be somewhere around 3300 CND/year=2,432.02 USD=1,366.02 GBP.

EDIT: I live in the GTA, Ontario, Canada. I wrote my insurance premium, even though I'm not American (or Canadian :shock: ), but I do live "across the pond".

PL PD (property liability, property damage) is the lowest form of insurance you can get in the us.... well, at least michigan. on my previous 2 cars, it was 822$ per year, and 796$ per year usd.

i never want to have a car with such low coverage again :roll:

23years old, almost 24. 2 cars (see my sig) 4 speeding tickets on record, 2 will come off next month though. All 4 tickets were oddly enough in the Audi or something else. Cops never seemed to care about the bright orange beast you can hear for a mile racing around town, never got a single ticket in it :? .

I pay about $2500 USD a year for both.

EDIT: Forgot that ive been involved in 2 accidents, both not my fault but it still impacted my insurance a little.

hehe...my dad is currently uninsurable (he's had too many tickets and we can't get him insured on a vehicle through and insurer except for Ford Motor Company's insurance agency)

SFDMALEX, the province I'm in is Saskatchewan, all the car insurance is run by a crown corporation so its really all controlled by the government.

I have a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24, that puts out a whopping 140 bhp and I have had 5 speeding tickets, no dermit points, 2 accidents where I wrote off two cars, those accidents were not my fault, so they didn't count against me. I pay $825 per year as my driving record is totally clean and clear. I have only lost 3 dermit points in 11 years of driving, my nickname when I get behind the wheel of any car is 2X due to the fact that if a sign says 70km/h I will be doing 140 km/h, hahaha. I always speed in the USA as the roads are so side and smooth and clear of traffic, plus I get very lucky sometimes. I will go from my Z24 to something like a 5-series or a 997 within a couple of years. This car that I have is in tremendous shape and I take really good care of it, so it will probably last me another 3-4 years.

17 clean record, 1200 for the Accord, manly because of my age, and the face that accord is one of the most stolen cars. Also just to let u guys know. The Lightning is thought of as just a F-150 to the insurance, its gets claimed as a F-150! i so want one.
