sounds liek regular m3 with aftermarket exhaust
i think the guy had gps on board, beside the shift number
the speedo r way off
very fast indeed,it just kept goin and goin.im not sure if that was dyno or on the road,im sure i could hear wind against the car.
but yeah the speedo was way off from the digital read out
Nice Vid! I'm thinking it was on a dyno though.... there was some wind-like noise but at that speed there would be a lot more, imo. The car just didn't act like it was being driven on the road. Could be wrong though

That aint dyno, u'd have to be mental to flat shift like that on a dyno, u'd break sumthing. Plus you can hear wheelspin in 1st gear, a sqeal, and chirp into second, u only usually get a squeal like that on tarmac. I just think its a good camera set up and the surprisingly good sound deadening of a motorsport BMW!
Man it sounds fuckin good above 6k dont it!

Ah, i forgot that its SMG!!!!! So cant really do much about the shifting! But i still recon its not on dyno.

coombsie got it I think. Except for the second post. With SMG you can choose when you want to change gear yourself. Anyway, I'm also convinced it's not a dyno.
Damn, this car is fast! Anyone else thought it was mad that it changed up to sixth at an odd 280 km/h?! Sheesh...
The sound was magic and the sound proofing astonishing!

^^ I know u can choose when u wanna change gear, i was talking about the ferocity of the gear changes (how fast they r) cus dumpin the clutch like that would not be good on a dyno.

yeah i guess your right! It would be completely insane to dyno like that! I thought there would be more wind noise but i guess not. That is one fast sweet sounding car!! :D

That is some screamming machine my god I love the sound.
That M3 CSL pulled so hard up til about 240/250kmh
I didn't think it was that fast.
PS. Watch the shift from 5th to sixth, the revs barely drop... They could have put a higher gear in and given it faster top speed, BUT i like it the way it is
:D

Very nice video. It must be on the road because the traction control kept kicking in. If I am right, that is a very well taken video going at those speeds.

Nice video!
It is one of my favourite cars at the moment. And i even managed to blag a drive in one at the last trackday i was at! Awesome! Very generous guy! :P :D
That noise is magical, sends shivers down my spine when i hear it! Awesome hearing them come towards you round a corner blipping the throttle.
Still would prefer a manual (shame the aren't availible!), you can hear the smg clutch slip at every change, sounds like my mums driving it! Paddle shift were fun to play with on the track though!

Did anyone notice that the digital readout (I'm guessing that that was the digital speedo readout) and the analog readout differed by about 20km/h?
Great sound though. I think it was on a road because you could hear wind noise.

Well, about the dyno, you know you don't have only dyno for small sports cars for example, Ferrari or Mercedes have dyno to test a lots of parameters except the acceleration...And be sure the speed can exceed 250km/h. But, for having tried the M3 (not the CSL) I can believ that it's on opened (flat and excellent ground) road...
Sincerely yours.

The car wasn't on a dyno! It drives on the autobahn and the wheelspin is because of rain.
