Welcome! Nice car, I've been thinking on and off about getting a 944 Turbo once I work up the cash for it, any recommendations/suggestions/likes/dislikes things I should be aware of?

one of my good friends i went to HS with had a 1985 944 turbo, amazing handling good engine response concidering its just a 4 cylinder. bucket seats in the back for 5 years and younger...(3 adults at max in car)
his engine has been leaking a quart of oil every 2 weeks, never getting worse since he has had it. its totally reliable for long distances, h havent seen the engine burn any oil. fixing the car is extraordinarily expensive, however, with patience with ebay shopping for parts, and searching junk yards will yield great savings comparitively. he had an estimated 5000$ usd in damage to his undercarrige, and radiator/intercooler, and after a year and a few months plus 900$ later, he had it fully funtional once again. it was a very fun car to ride in, tho i dont know quite what its like to drive one.

Sweet car man, can't go wrong with a Porsche. I was actually looking at a 944 when I was looking for my first car. They look like pretty solid cars, but unofrtunately the one I was looking at had too many miles on her. What kind of hp do those engines put out?

oh man the car drives like none other. thanks for the comments. a couple things though. there is no 1985 porsche 944 turbo (951). the 951 puts out 217 hp but it's the fastest 217hp engine you will ever drive. it runs 13.5 out the factory. that's a camaro SS/corvette right there. the only thing i have against mine is the shifter. i fixed that real easily by putting a short shifter in. it's MUCH better.

..but there is a 1986 944 Turbo - perhaps he just remembered the year incorrectly...

And from what I remember, Road & Track and others only got mid 14's to low 15's for the 86, 87 and 88's.. T cars...
