really, is there any need for new memebers to flash new threads saying "hi i'm new" or anything like that? don't look at me as a noob basher cuz that's not what it is, i'm just saying, it's not necessary. ok yeah you're new BIG FUCKING DEAL we were all new, but not everybody was so desperate for attention so as to start a thread about it upon arrival. it's like those gay people who dress flamboyantly homo and wear those "Gay Pride" shirts just to announce to the world that they're gay, it's like yeah you're gay but who gives a fuck? just live. yeah you're new, so what? needa make a thread about it? nae. yeah everyone's welcome but i mean, come on...

vote = throw it in the junk section

I think the same , or half the topics would have been about newbie posting "hi aim new" and shit like that , i thinik it should be prohibited or deleted at least

I agree with you but also disagree :D

Basically.. a pointless topic like "hello I am new" is really useless yes. But a short intro when somebody is telling us how and why he came here and so on can be better :)

Yes but you know, if somebody wants to add something like his background and so on, it could always be interesting.. I think you remember astro3x's first topic ;) that was actually a good introduction ;)

Ok its true the How did you get into JW topic , but dont ask the newbies to go there and post , while 70% of them never ever read a shit b4 starting asking the videos , maybe there should bew a popup for newbies with instruction , being mandatory to post in that topic

Let them do whatever they want , if they dont post they will receive nothing and run away , much of them have done that , the only thing that is clear is to let them know that they have to be particitive .

and i think you'd agree that members such as astro3x are one in a million, and 99.9999% of newbies HARDLY have anything interesting to say. and the introduction threads usually go like "hi i'm new *insert ass kissing remark here" and replies follow as "welcome!" or "*insert return ass kissking remark here" and yadda yadda. it's kinda like those political threads that turn into flame wars and get locked: you know what's going to be said so there's no point in continuing it. frankly i see those "hi i'm new" threads as a prime opportunity for members to up their post count while accomplishing nothing. y'know?

I much rather have "Hi I am New" then have the "How I Download Vids" because the "im new" I can avoid entering and reading... however, the other one... I MUST go in and read what the @sshole who created the topic said. Obviously, I must answer with hatred towards those. I wish we got neither, but I suppose we just have to live like that =/

Maybe (it's an idea, so it can be a little bit stupid) a new thread called "For newbies and intros" or another name like that in the general chat forum would be the solution.
Of course that doesn't means the universal solution because some newbies would inmediatly make new threads again and again.
The best intro in the month with no butt-kissing would gain access to 1 (one) day to the video vault (now I expect some foulwords from the JW's community).

Is my idea a bad, stupìd, or something worse thingy?

IMO jW should have a sticky about it, like "welcome, introduce yourself" or some shit like that, i have seen them in other forums and they work, so maybe that would help!

that's a good idea. Maybe when they have finished registering in JW, the first post should be their intro, then they could make their second post (99% chances a "how do i dl the vids?" is the second post)

of course this belongs to site ideas, etc forum ,not in general chat
