the new audi design is it good or bad

I just checked out a couple of pictures of the new audi A6 and A8. I was dissapointed at the new monster grill at first, howver, after looking at the car more closely i think it is quite nice. Audi still make great looking cars and the new A6 is no exception. Though i am unsure about the new cabin.

What do you guys think of the new audi direction? Im not too keen on them competing directley with BMW. Thoughts and opinions

Hmmm ... they are redesigning the cars with more radical designs , but still with the german elegance of the past , the past a8 and a6 were very sober cars , you can spend 100k in a A8 and the money will no show off , it can merge in the traffic , i still think that the new models are a step ahead of the mercs , jags and Bmws of course

As always, I think it's to early.. at least for me... Ihave to get used to the new Audi lines, but for instance the A3 is by far the most gorgeous car in its cathegory :D

The new A6 is already growing on me.. so I think I already love the new style and will love it even more :D

I like it even if a prefer the previous A3. In fact it's more the rear of the new A3 that i don't like but the front of the A8 W12 and the new A6 ... i like it ! :D

I don't like the front grille, but I'm sure it will grow on me. Audi makes nice cars (no denying it), but I'd prefer a Merc or BMW instead.

The most audish of all Audi is TT model.After making that its hard to make any advance in style, its so discreet and cleaned.Now , every Audi will look like overloaded with different more-or -less ugly design tips.thats the problem-they made a real top-class design with TT and cannot over it now.They simply cannot make all cars looks like TT(actually, they made sth like this way in a Nuvolari big coupe concept and i didnt like it)!!!Thats my point of view on it.

Although ive never bee na fan of Audi, i really like the new grille. Maybe that is because the Nuvolari was the 1st car ive seen with it, and later(more or less) the le mans. anyway i like its looks, a bit more agressive than the old design.

yes i agree there is something about a sedan that kills supercars that rely does it for me.

as for the new audi design, it is yet to grow on me, it makes the car's look to long IMO

and it looks the same as the audi le-mans, - "ugly"

i think the new audi design is GREAT! (but i'm not sure about that new A6 steering wheel.. :? )

but its really.. one of the best design updates i've seen! the new A6 is a realy good looking car!

the new A3 is good looking too.. but overpriced IMO... and i just dont like hatchbacks...

and the not so new A8 is great too...

i'm for sure a fan of the new Audi designs!

Not a big fan of Audis, but I definitely like the looks of the last A8s over the new ones. The old ones may have blended in, but I like understated cars...I don't necessarily want everyone to know I spent 100K+ on a car, I am fine knowing that myself.

Until Audi starts making some proper cars (read: RWD) I won't be a big fan of them, but I do like the RS series... :twisted:

So to sum up...the old design looks better, but the new one is better from a technical stand point.

Sometimes AWD cars have the same feeling that RWD when you take a corner. If you look some Audi RS4 and Subaru Impreza STI videos taking a very pronounced curves you will be able to see a lots of oversteer like RWD sport cars.
I mean the AWD cars start being understeer to become oversteer after that.
You can even smoke the tyres from the four wheels with a powerful AWD cars.

Despite that I understands your opinion sentra_dude, nothing is better than a good rear propulsion car. :D :D

I personally like the fact that they went out and tried something new...but I don't think they're there yet. The grill was a good idea...now all they need to do is change those very generic-looking headlamps.

for me the new grill works fine for the A8 but not for the new A6...maybe it is too early to say that but for now the new A6 for me is not so pretty.....i would definetely buy a bmw instead...
