I had a cold, got over it a week ago.... but my voice never recovered... any ideas? thanks
Lucazade - drink a bottle of that, and chow down on some protein like jerky or an egg shake.
Kept me out of the flu/cold zone for years... ;)

Measure it out to be wild guessing on my part, but do you drink many beverages with caffeine, nthfinity? I know that the caffeine can play havoc with the vocal cords, sometimes. Of course, that was no consolation for the caffeine-withdrawal headaches I had when I performed in a play, oh-so-long ago :)
If you don't mind being a bit frou-frou, might I suggest taking in a bit of chamomille tea, with a touch of lemon juice?

I use some honey-based sweets or candy. And to keep me out and help me for those little colds, I drink this:
-juice of 3 lemons (vitamin c)
-one spoon of natural bee honey (sugar, some proteins and gives some relief to red troats)
-put it in a glass, then fill up with water, and drink with a straw
hope it helps

open a bottle of whiskey and dont stop until its empty, either you get your voice back or you dont care.....its a win win situation.....
i have done a lot of variants on these, and ^^^^^^ this one last night
you got to remember, im actually quite healthy except for my vocal chords. i hate going to phasicians, but i secumbed to it the other day since i love to talk
he told me there is almost nothing i can do, except take a cirtain steroid, where the side effects might be worse then no voice, or not use my voice, which i definately opted for. so ive been whispering for the last 2 days, and it is helping. thanks guys :)

ginseng tea is NOT the same as Green Tea...Ginseng is Chinese, and Green Tea is Japanese and is loaded with Estrogen.

Theraflu might be a possibility or Vics Vaporub or something of that type, for the most part, just drink lots of fluids...I'd steer clear of alcohol at all costs (unless it's in cough syrup)...use cough drops, ones with menthol or Eucalyptus (which has menthol) would be the best choices...hot herbal tea is also a good choice, but I'd steer clear of coffee unless you feel the need for a buzz (it's significantly more acidic than most teas) Lots of rest and keeping away from talking whenever possible are the most important things for the next few days though. Feel better man!!!
