It wasn't my camera. It was my friend's camera, it's a digital one.

Look at this zoom. Look at the brakes:

Really good pictures.... how did you get into the circuit whilst testing, did you need a special pass or something?

PS>>> i was wondering what sort of settings are required on a digital camer to achieve decent pictures of fast travelling objects... please help with ISO settings etc... (I have a Canon Ixus with 4.0 m/pixels..

Once again, great pictures :D

A friend borrow me his member card...and it was difficult to shot the cars in movement! The only thing I did was to follow the car movement with the camera...

Wow, that shot where the Ferrari is crossing the finish line is pretty amazing.

Looks like stuff out of Formula 1 magazine.

wow! that must be at least a 600ml zoom! was it an SlR, meaning did it have a big lens that came off?

we took this at the grand prix and we had 3, 1gig cards and we only got a few good ones. Your mates camera must be a 1D nothing else can focus that quickly!

I'll ask my friend what performances has his camera because I don't know at all. However, I have to say that most of the pictures were taken at the slowest corner of the circuit and I suppose that most of the cameras would be able to take some good pics

During the day I was there, there were no problems for McLaren I don't know the other days. I think they had a few problems but nothing serious if we compare with what had happened in the recent races...

Yes, this one is very good indeed...it's a pity that didn't happen the same with the Ferrari crossing the finish line...it would have been an incredible photo!!

Unfortunately just because you have a good camera doesn't mean you'll get good photos, and you don’t necessary need fast focus, for instance you can Pre Focus lock :)

A 300mm lens (effectively 480mm) fitted to a 10D, 300D or D70 is sufficient for track motorsport events. The longer lenses are aimed at Wildlife photographers who need to fill a shot with a tiny bird from 100 metres.
