Hey if I had the money, I would definitely buy it. Nice link. How much is that in US dollars anyways?

That's been for sale so long it's not funny which is quite
serprising to me as it is quite a desirable model. Not a
bad price at all for a road legal GTR, I believe they go
for around $2 million usually.

How much is that in US dollars anyways?
Thats about $1,273,587.50.

oscargarza88

it is exactly

now, back to the car, i would love to have it, but not from a private dealer, on 5th and topgear tiff says that if you buy it from mclaren the fix everything so it is as good as new, and you can customize it so i would rather buy one from mclaren.

Uhm - that is how Mclaren treat EVERY sale of the F1... since EVERY sale after is bought new is a private sale.

It is part of the Mclaren warranty/service and support service... ;)

That is how the cars get modded anyway - they ALL go back to Macca for reconditioning.

I am sure the right buyer will come along...

To coin what Jay Leno always say about neat car stuff "The guys who can afford it don't want it... and the guys who want it can't afford it".

So - eventually a wealthy gear-head will turn up and buy it... :D

At that time it will be sent back for FULL reconditioning again... ;)

Ray Bellm is no ordinary private vendor, he is a race driver
who used to race this very car.

Incidently, they mention that there are only 4 road ready F1 GTRs,
I know for sure there are more than that although I'm not sure how
many more, posibly 3 or 4 more.

I wouldn't buy it(If I could), it seems to have been driven the shit out of it.

It was a racing car.... that would have received better attention than any road going commuter ever would have... your point being?

So What :?:

McLaren will recondition the car as new. They will retrim the interior, service the engine...etc.

You can even have an uprated BMW engine put into it now with over 680bhp (i think this is what Jay Leno did).

McLaren will also fit the High Downforce body kit to any car if the price is right (they did this to the Mclaren that went on sale at Christies a few months ago).

So, in short, no matter how hard the car has been driven, the buyer will be able to drive it as if it was new after a trip to the McLaren facilities. :D

geez guys, right now i would settle for seeing an F1, let alone owning one! thats a car that if you are sitting down and doing the conversion for the money you cant afford it =) .... but i cant believe that its been for sell for awhile. i would think that the F1 would go quickly. but you never know , not many ppl have 1 million to lay down on a car! a used car! lol its just money!

Actually getting a million to buy it is the easy part. Getting
the money to keep it up and running is the hard part eg.
insurence, repairs, regular service etc.. You need several
hundred million to a billion to own one of these cars. :D But
other than the high cost of ownership it's a really practical
car. It can carry three passengers in enough comfort
to go on quite a long trip. It can be used as a daily driver
with no problem at all. And best of all it sips gas, seriously,
would you believe that this car can do 20mpg, it can. 8)

I have heard several rumors about it's engine being based
on preexisting engines like the M3s and 850s, but everyone
at Mclaren says that it has no part in comen with any other
engine. :? I think I would go with the people from Mclaren,
if anyone nows they would be the ones.

But In the Driving Passions video by Autocar the
one guy in the factory said it was "made for us[mclaren]
uniquely by BMW and there are no other parts comen
to any other engine". That was from one of the top
guys at Mclaren and I'm sure he knows something.

also the Benz SLR have some maclaren techneces, i'mnot sure if it's engine.

A performance shop in here, upgraded the E55 supercharge with extra twin turbo that took it to 700hp, they had a problem in bistens and connect rod ..so they ordered the SLR bistens and rod, and it work fine now in our 45 dgree.

the turbo kit is for 34,000 US dollars, computer modifed from AMG programer that will allow superchange to work untel 80Klm then the twin turbos start their job.
