Translation: by me

The Lexus GT's has as a task to freighten cars like the M5, S4, Maser Quatroporte.
Their are plans for a IS 350 GT, GS 350 GT and a LS 500 GT.
The LS 500 GT doesn't only has a 400 hp V8, but also an elektro engine that delivers 200 hp to the front wheels. In total the hybrid LS 500 GT will have 600 hp.
Lexus promises a topspeed over the 300 kph. According to Lexus, the LS 500 GT
will be available in 2006 in America.
For the development of the 3.5-liter V6 of the GS 350 GT, Lexus has started a partnership with Yamaha. This gasoline engine delivers 300 hp, the electro engine,
also to the front wheels, adds an aditional 170 hp.
The IS 350 GT also has the same 300 hp V6 of the GS 350 GT. If the small muscled-Lexus also will be equiped with the hybrid technology, is not clear yet.

I'd like to know what you guys think about it :?

And isn't it weird they don't mention the E 55 AMG, its probably way out of the others range

As for me, I think its a good idea, it even looks good.

looks like a Saab.LOL  well put

plus when they compare it to its competition they say M5(well ok, good luck Lexus), S4(big difference from an M5 , did they mean RS6? ), then the Maser (didnt know this was being comapred to the M5 and competitors  )

If I'm not mistaken that article was actually about several
cars, the lexus GT series(kinda like BMW Motorsport, Mercedes
AMG, the audi S or RS cars etc). BTW, I have no doubt at
all that Lexus has what it takes to take on BMW. In fact
many automotive rating outlets rate lexus above both Merc
and BMW, and that takes quite a bit. I would have to say
that the M5 will probably be more drivers oriented but that
doesn't mean that it is better than the Lexus, it just means
that it is aimed at a different kind of driver.

Mercedes and BMW are still nicer/better than Lexus IMO. IMO Lexus is just an overpriced Toyota. :fist: :fist: Lexus.

IMO Lexus is just an overpriced Toyota.
I haven't driven any Lexuses but I used to own an Acura
and have driven several others and I can tell you that they
deffinetly aren't just an overpriced Honda. Acuras have
a much smoother ride and are much more luxerious. I
would think it's probably the same way with Lexus. although
I do admit that they may be a little overpriced even with
all the extra amenities, but then, aren't Mercs and BMWs
overpriced to. :?

The first picture looks like the masda 6 or rx-8 from the front (headlights). I like the second pic better. Looks good. Hope its not a failure like the SC which was compared by Top Gear with the Tiburon!

Hmm. I dunno, I mean Lexus has such a poor connotation stateside. I do find the IS430 appealing however...

can't wait to see how well the hybrid system works as a sports car..

i wonder if toyota will be making a new supra or a whole new sports car using this technology...

I must say.. the 2nd car pic looks damn nice.. .kinda similar styling to what BMW's been doin IMO
