JabbasWorld as your homepage

I think it would be cool if we all made JW our homepage. My suggestion (if you think it's a good idea) is to put up a google search on the front page, and kabam....all we need in one site. :)

I have to admit I never chosed to put JW as homepage :) and that just because I don't want to open JW by mistake when I have no time to check all the new topics or maybe that my girl opening explorer will open it by mistake while I'm not here -> again I would lose all the "lights" on the new posts ;)

So basically for me it's to dangerous to have it as homepage :D but of course, when I open explorer, the first thing is to come here :D

yeah I also dont have JW as the homepage. Google is my home page. for a few reasons. The one that TT explained, and Im not the only one using this computer.

my situation is the same as TT, i usually look at new posts, so that would reset the 'lights' for me. i had it as my home page, but then there were never any new posts!

Mine has always been CNN, so I can get news first, but then I always go to Favorites, and JW to check out the topics! I leave JW all day so between classes I can come in, and post up sime ideas. :D

Make your homepage a page thats very light on graphics thus it loads faster. Unless you dont mind waiting for the web browser to open each time as it loads a graphic heavy page.

Best yet give the home page a blank page so it loads instantly.

Not very observent are ya? Its been there since the site was designed how it currently is. The bottom of the right column. Of course this column can get quite long since it lists everyone whos logged in for the day.

Isn't there a way to improve the JabbasWorld search??
Maybe it me but i find it very dif to find stuff through the search because everytime i try to find something it gives me to many pages for two especific words.

Can we use google engine in the page like i have at my university, that only does a search inside the website??

You can do what ever you want with google. Just add 'inurl:jabbasworld.net' to the end of your search string.

Enclose your search in " " or say look for the exact phrase.

of course you could always write a new search alogrithm if you wanted aswell.

hehe, I have my own site as my homepage in Opera, and use google in IE, and when I get on the computer first of course I have to check my own site is ok, and then I come here to see what whats new :)
