In your opinion, what makes a person a good driver or a bad driver? What qualities do good drivers have which bad drivers lack? What are some things bad drivers do (cut you off, impede traffic by driving 20 under, etc.)?

Any stories to go along with your opinion.

A good driver is somebody who tries to stay calm all the time, and concentrated.

And also important a good driver is somebody who considers himself not a good driver and tries to improve all the time, somebody who thinks he's a fantastic driver has a high chance of having an accident.

bad drivers impete the flow of traffic. bad drivers cause good drivers to have accidents. and, ^^^^^^^^^ what he said seems to fit fairly well

and, there are to many stories to tell one that stands in my mind more then another. perhaps just that new snow seems to make many people who seem like they wouldnt loose control under most conditions..... loose control

Always stay conscious and aware of your surroundings. Know everything thats going on, everywhere, and expect the unexpected. Dont be overly confident, like speedkillar said. theres always a chance that you, or anyone(and everyone) around you can make a mistake that will cost you something you probably like(car, passenger, self). In race conditions, quick reflexes, knowledge of your car inside and out, as well as its full capabilities and potential. And of course the concentration on your surroundings.

A raging temper makes the worst driver in the world. So
many accidents happen each year for no other reason than
that some one couldn't keep their cool and decided to do
something very stupid like run the person that ticked them
off off the road. This often leads to death and destruction.
IMHO a driver that's full of rage should have his licence
revoked.

I think selflessness is absolutely important when driving on
the road. Their are to many people riding the road today
that have bloated egos, it makes me sick :x .

a good driver only expose himself to danger......doesn´t bother other drivers and is always predictable (when hes about to turn, he put the lights and just do it with decision).
And the most important thing........a good driver knows hes car like hes own hand, and preserve it in good conditions

A good driver can drive a car to the conditions of the road but also the conditions of the car...Bad driver can't do that.

A good driver is someone who knows his limits as well as those of the vehicle being driven. He should be cautious, and aware of his surroundings at all times, give himself ample room to negotiate obstacles and drive with the conditions, not above them. Above all else, he should treat all the other vehicles on the road as potential accidents and be able to avoid them.

I'm not saying that under good conditions a little fun can't be had, I'm just saying that unless there is no chance of putting someone else in harm's way should you do so.
