The Australian company 'Joss' presented their new supercar at the Melbourne Motorshow. It will be powered by a 6,8 L V8 kicking out 500BHP. Not THAT much for todays standards but it weighs only 940kg's!!...it's body is made of carbon fibre and kevlar. Plus it will have a manual :)

0-100km/h in just 3.7secs.

Probably the only pic available so far:

I love simple shapes and this car sure has a nice line at least from this angle :D

I like the shape too, it make me think to the Mclaren or the Jaguar XJR-15.

I think it looks a little like an NSX up front. But I'm sure the shape will change a fair amount over the next couple years...just look at the Koenigsegg!

The shape is very clean and simple, although some might argue that it is TOO simple. There are shades of Macca F1 and XJR-15 in it, as well as some NSX.

While the weight claim of 940Kgs sounds a bit too good to be true, a power output of 500 Bhp doesnt sound too bad. However, i think the design isnt really original enough. It still looks good, mind you, and i wish them all the success in the world to make this car happen.

Looks good. But it is just a picture. Let's see how it looks when they produce it and the mirrors have to be aligned differently

That is VERY light! It is very impressive! Thanks for the link!

It looks very cool. And 940kg with 500bhp is amazing

Gnome

I think the most amazing thing is 940 kg and 6,8 l. A 6,8 litre engine is heavy! The rest of the car must be really light.

I'm a fan of simple, clean, curvy design, too. This might be too much, though. It looks a bit too simple, but as mentioned it might change before release.

It looks pretty bad , no attitude i think , sure the numbers are impressive , 500hp of a ford engine i guess , in 900kg , that is the hell of a fast car

I think the look is pretty nice, smooth and simple. 500hp is quite impressive indeed!

Looks good, but has too many cars hinted in its design. A little Koenigsegg, Mosler M900, and Enzo. Still, an Exclusively Aussie car would be awsome (since Holden is part of GM).

not bad..looks like a koenigsegg w/ an ond gt40 hood hole thing...i dunno what is called....in anycase, i think they have to do something about those horrible headlights

hm...the front looks a lot like one of the cars from a DVD
and wow, for a car w/ that size, its light

i also think it looks nice, very much like the mosler MT900

Very clean and tidy looking. I like the look of that car a lot. The lights are an excellent and proven race car design and location.. probably also chosen so that they will be street legal in various countries around the world with very strict height requirments for head lights.

I laaak ut... I laaak ut a lut... ;)

Thanks RC. Hmmm. The look might grown on me, but it is a tad bit derivative, and perhaps a little guilty of a bit too much plagarism. Oh well. We'll see.

I like those little niggles that they added, such as the air intake for the front brakes, and the dip in the roof (that's for aerodynamic purposes) which I expect to be seeing a lot in future cars of this type.

It's ok I guess. Nothing too fancy, but nothing plain either. Good if you get one now, but shapes like that get old quickly.

can you say Mosler.
i do give them credit for designing a carbon fiber car. for those that know the process, its not easy

holy talk about typical supercar looks, the mosler, mac f1, saleen s7, jaguar xj-15 or what its called and this have such typical un original looks, unlike to a certain extent the Koenegsegg and Murcielago (which does look more typcial then the Diablo) but especially the Zonda and Enzo, and oh what a coincedence the Zonda and Enzo are by far the most sexy and popular, hmm.
but I have to admit the Mac was made in 93 or around then so u cannot blame them for the looks, so the Mac is an original design

i kinda think looks like a koenigsegg in the firs post of this topic (dont kill me)

I think its too much Saleen S7/Mosler MT as others suggested...just not original styling enough.

man i really like it, i am going with the guys who liked the smooth body lines, its just super clean!!! and its got the best feature or all , the light weight! gotta love that , it just gives so much more to the car in handling and performance than just simply adding HP! i love light cars! but its a beautiful car and sure like to hear more about it, perhaps on like TG or 5th gear

I think the car does look quite good but i also think its just another wannabe supercar.

You know whats scary...I think the engine is way too big and its only 2100lbs? WTF??? Plus only 500hp for all those cubes? Wonder what block they are using or if its homegrown.

Anyone noticing all these new "supercars" are starting to look the same?

dons5
06-03-2004, 10:55 PM
no super cars will ever have the power/engine size ratio as good as Ferrari does man there just the best

Specs ook promising, design doesn't have a millimeter of individuality in it though....

What a beautiful car...this is one of the most beautiful car ever seen from a handmade brand, as well as the ideal concept of a car for me(a big engine into a small wheelbased and light car), alongside the Pagani Zonda......im a bit looking forward for its launching, its results when testing, due to the ideal ingredients of the car for me...in my opinion there is nothing as pure as a big engine in a tiny and short shape in order to get the most authentic sensations when driving a car
