i'm not talking about a freak crash, i'm talking about the timeless effect certain cars have on enthusiasts like us. for example, the mclaren F1: more than a decade and a half after its inception people are STILL awestruck at the thought/sight of one, and is STILL consider to be THE car to have (one of em at least). things like the ferrari dynasty, the 355 f40 and f50. those cars are old as hell yet they still manage to instill fantasies in each and every one of us. i mean, WOW. y'know? most of us are young adults and those cars were brought about years before most of us had testicle hair, and yet we today have DREAMS about owning them. y'know? just think about how much effect the newer supercars will have on future generations. idunno, maybe our kids will be downloading videos of the zonda or enzo or koeniggseg and we'll be able to tell them about when we first saw those cars on tv and shit.

incredible aint it?

"I piss on this thread"  :fist: :fist: :fist:

Just playing. I know what you mean. The F40 was out before I was even born, and I'd still cream my pants if I got a ride in one...or if I got to own one. The current supercars will most likely influence our kids like the old supercars influenced us. Of course, this is in the hope that the "ricer/wigger generation" will not last much longer.

I doubt the Mclaren will ever be considered a lower level of car It's like a really old muscle car they aren't all as fast as they're newer counterparts but they get way more respect than the newer ones because they are the originals. That will never change

Well, if the future holds cars that are that much faster than the McLaren F1...i won't know what to say. How much faster can a road car get? Long live the McLaren F1!

Its not necessarily the speed of the cars, its the whole ambience and feeling you get when looking at the cars. Cars may get faster to sixty or have a higher top speed, but you will always remember the legends that Ferrari have produced over the years and of course the day that you first saw the McLaren F1..
