Yeah, the Maranello is one beautiful and just plain old awesoe kick ass vechile, it is the best odern Ferrari by far, too bad the build quality on it is terrible and they depreciate faster than a skydiver jumping out of a plane

Another great read from EVO. Thanks a lot for the scan TT. Love the outcome :D

BTW Tried to get an EVO two days ago and all the had is a heavily used copy of the ITALIAN version. LOL How did the Italian version get to Canada is beyond my imagenation.

You got to be kidding me. Ever seen a Maranello in person. Ever looked inside the interior?

You always seem to have some shit to say about a Ferrari or anything besides Porsche. Bad built quality???LOL

evo comes through again with a brilliant article. They are so much more focused on driving than any of the mags in America...its great to read their articles. Little surprised about the winner, I figured either the new GT3 or the Zonda and was hoping for the NSX-R ...but the 550 is definitely a wonderful car. Thanx TT

yea this article is wack, how do you not include the F355 or the 360. How are both of those cars not better than a lotus or a clio. I don't completely understand their thinking. And the NSX-R man what are they on. On a positive note, thanks for posting, don't want to smack the hand that feeds.

^^^Did you read the article...they don't choose their 'best' car based on usual criteria, its on which is the best driver's car...so that's why the NSX-R, Elise, and Clio are there...evo happens to think they are better driver's cars than those two Ferraris. It's not about name, which is the most expensive, or which is fastest to 60mph... a nice change from every American mag out there.

I appreciate the article and their point of view but, how you can think that a clio drives better than say an m3 or a mercedes is beyond me. To me its just a little bopper car. It's like these art critics, who tell me that The Last Samurai was a bad movie and then tell me how great this independent shitbox movie about a guy and his tractor is.

Yes they will receive many letters about the placement of the Clio, I'm sure.

But I always like their way of thinking and for sure you can't find much better in the FF market then the Clio.. they rate the cars basing on evoness and it's something very subtle and subjective too.. so it's normal that somebody always disagree ;)

Thanks a lot TT, as always! This is epic and the Maranello is the best car they've ever tested, and this is impressive knowing how much it weights!! But like thay said, it's a kind of magic

I like the 550M but I don't agree with their choice. I think the car is too heavy for such honors. I am also suprised that EVO and Car magazines continue to rate the MK1 as a better overall handler than the MK2. St Anger who has driven both indicates the MK2 understeered less than the MK1. I think that the difference is the spring rates on the MK2 being stiffer and a difference in road conditions in the UK verses Germany. It sounds like UK roads aren't as smooth as in Germany and that this prevents the MK2's front end from bitting like the MK1.

Well that's my 2 cents worth. Thanks TT for the scan.

Im a bit angry that the 355 and 360 were not even mentioned. The 355 was commonly refered to as "the best car in the world", the 360 even better. And compared to the GT3's? More practical, better looking, sounding and nearly as fast. 550? No thanks, make mine a 360.

:D This is my story also. :D Before the 550,,,I was into cars, but it..you know not on a car lover junky level...

But when I saw the 550 in NFS3 something clicked...after that I became facinated with Ferrari,,,and that lead to becoming a car maniak.

I would have liked to see the GT3 win, and I have talked to a few owners of Porsches and Ferrari's and one of them who happened to own a 550 was telling me about how unreliable it was and how it was always in the shop getting something fixed on it. He said he loves it, its a beautiful car, but its just not reliable. Porsche on the other hand does have a reputation for being reliable...and I have talked to several owners who have said nothing but great things about their Porsches.

I'm not saying one is better than the other, all I'm saying is that from talking to owners Porsches are much more reliable..

Thanks for the scan TT!!

I'm still waiting for mine to come in the mail, it takes forever!

Yes I agree with you. I've heard the same, ferraris are great car but not very reliable. Maybe its cause of FIAT.

Thank god it isnt, because there arent many reliable sports cars out there. Or else the name of EVO would be the deutsch people wagens.

Yeah, this is true..and thats one of the reasons I like Porsche..I understand about EVO being about the thrill of driving...thats why I was not saying that one is better than the other because I was talking about reliability, which really had nothing to do with the article, and they were talking about the driving pleasure of the car itself..in which senario the Ferrari wins

Well reliability adds to the pleasure without a doubt. when you know that the car wont brake it adds to the experiance I guess. But it looks that with the release of the 360 the reliability standarts are higher at Ferrari. Look how many 360s finish the gumballs without any problems...Plus when I was at the Ferrari dealership I did not see many 360s...and there are about a 1000 friggin 360s in Toronto.
