having my new car (eagle talon) in my posession for less than 48 hours, someone lovely decides to hit my car and leave the scene without any note. the car was in a paking garage. i am a student at Western Michigan University, and returning to my car after class i notice that my wheel is pushed back into my fender and theres a series of scrapes down the drivers side bumper.....
the only thing i can figure out is that when i left it, i had the wheels turned and they were sticking out of the fender. someone must have turned into the spot next to mine too close and whacked the wheel a good one, thus pushing it back into the fender. after doing this they backed out, and in doing so scraped my bumper all to hell.
the suspension damage comes out to be a bent lower and uppper control arm and most likely bent tie rods as well. total to fix this = slightly less than 600 USD, without fixing the body.....
i wish i had a digital camera so i could post this right now, but i took pictures of the damage and will get them up soon. :( :( :( :( :(

yeah. its getting fixed tommorow morning so i'll have it back by tommorow afternoon. just really disapointing. im fortunate enough that i have the money to fix it though. the body damage will have to wait for now, but it will get fixed soon.
i havent even got to find out what this car is capable of and already some wanker has graciously messed it up for me.
i found little flecks of rust on the scratches when i looked close, so my guess is that whoever it was had a rusty steel wheel with no hubcap and thats what scraped up the bumper. :x :x :x

Damn, sorry to hear that, a year ago I had the same shit happend to my previous
car(E220cdi) but not as much damage as yours, only the bodywork was damaged.
But I caught the fucker because he was still drunk and lived nearby, and he got the bill. A few weaks later I had an accident, not my fault, at the same spot... :(

Still, sorry to hear that.

Wow, thats horrible. So many people do that. Actually, I was just thinking have you seen those sort of cushions that one straps onto each bumper? they are made for parking garages. Maybe you should consider those.

Welcome to Michigan with all its wonderful drivers. I've had a couple of experiences similar to that...people ripping off mirrors and leaving them on the hood of the car without a note or anything (in addition to scrapes and dents down the side of the car)...oy vey.

yep. so i'll get it back today - later on this afternoon. hoping that there isnt anythign worse than suspension damage. who knows how fast the person was going.....ugh....im so mad.
the body damage isnt terrible. its only along the bottom edge of the bumper, but still enought to hurt my baby :x :x im figuring that its only a matter of sanding, filling and painting to get it back to normal.

That sucks...sorry to hear about that. It sucks when you do nothing and still get jacked. Best of luck in getting the car back up to speed.

hahaha its not too bad. i'm 99 percent sure its the oxygen sensor.
if it wasnt my car id laugh but im not real humorous right now when it comes to my baby.

damn hardcore....... the cat too.... is that a hurried replacement, or waiting for a more unrestrictive exahaust?
we have yet to see how much faster your talon is then my jeep :-D any day, rain or shine .
im hoping the recent JW luck shaft ends there...
last year around this time i was in such a shitty place with my car, i bought it for 850, dumped 600 immediately to fix the front suspension, then a month later 1600 to fix the trans, then 300 for some new wires/belt/coolant tubing, then 150 for an O2 sensor, then 200 for various body panels/ hood.... then i gave up on it. i hate loosing battles

i definately know your pain

its getting replaced....
i plan on keeping this car for a long time, so the next time this happens i'll just rip the cat out and go with a full straight pipe.....
for now im being a good boy and playing by the rules. and i dont have any money for a new shiny exhaust now anyway.......

Your nice new Talon is becoming such an expensive project. Did insurance help with the garage incident?

Garretts_turbo

nope, insurance didnt help out. i have both of my cars inusred at the moment and cant afford full coverage for both of them so they are both on PLPD at the moment. no collision coverage. after this is all done, hopefully nothing else will come up for a few months and i can enjoy the talon.... :? :? :?

I know how you feel with that light coming on. On my stang, the "Coolant Low' light is almost always on, and the coolant is filled up to the brim. Also going onto the highway thismorning, the "Check Engine" light came on for 2 seconds then went out and didnt come back on. I think the sensor for the coolant is fucked, but i dunno about that check engine light, its making me nervous.

this is the first car i truly care about and now i have to pay attention to the idiot lights...damn me worrying. my stock boost gauge is totally worthless. at idle it flops up and down...and while accelerating it drops for no reason at all, even though its obvious im still under boost.....
whatta ya gonna do right?? yeah..... :x
