you should look in TT`s Paris post guys.....its gotten out on the streets in Europe....
yea, in the us no one walks because eveything is soo far apart, but in europe lots of places are close so u can use one of these, i think its cool but way to expensive, i rode one like for 2 mins and its weird at the begining but i bet u can get the hang of it real fast

You ever bother to read up on and understand the engineering complexity behind the Segway? (or any balancing scooter?)

Sure its complex but you can be perfectly balanced with a third wheel bam and it is cheaper

So that's why they wouldn't let me in!
The Segway is a piece of shit. I would NEVER spend 5 Gs for it. Its design may be useful, but maybe for something else.

they are being used for mailcarriers in some parts of the US already

ive ridden one its cool but there is no real world application for it except to steal it from the owner which would be really easy

So you still take candy from 5 year-olds, huh?

Every thought why they did NOT use a tri-cycle under carriage?
Imagine how you would face plant if you tried to negotiate rough terrain with the 3rd wheel you and Mallox show... ??

a guy at this site built his own segway and here's what he said about it.
Self-balancing scooters, like the Segway™ are often thought to be technological miracles, but it is not actually very hard to build one. I built the one described here in about a week using off-the-shelf parts. I spent another week tweaking the high-speed stability, improving the steering control, and writing about it.

damn my IQ just dropped 10 points from reading this thread
IMO Junk you are completely out of the pot! Beside the fact this topic is pretty childish LOL, the Segway is something VERY interesting, VERY complicated and amazing!
"Add some horsepowers to it"?!?!? WTF! that's not a racing device! And in crowded cities it could be a nice way of transportation, beeing more compact than a bike...
I was amazed when I saw them in Paris because I read somewhere that it was very hard to obtain licenses for it here in Europe, but probably they did, and those 3 ppl on the Segway were not a problem for normal ppl going by foot.
Of course to buy one just to go around your house like Shaq did can be a waste, but to find a way to offer a rental service in big cities is very nice!

That has been around since the Segway debuted.
Did you read further and see how crappy his attempt was - you don't think that is how the Segway prototypes progressed.. ;)

ya, the real segway a lot different, but remember the guy built it over two weeks for a lot cheaper.
