What do you guys think about the new Lamborghini with it's normal doors and a v10 instead of a v12. I mean the lamborghini doors are a trademark to that company, i just can't believe they put normal doors on a lamborghini.

Well, if you want to create a baby lambo you have to save somewhere beside the engine ;)

IMO it's a very find car, I'd pick it over the Murcielago (if I'd have to choose between Lambo's present models I mean).

Its an Audi. The baddest Audi ever. As TT said, i'd take it over the Murcielago. It is actually almost functional. The Turbo takes the functionality prize. Watch Jeremy Clarkson review it...nuff sed.

i have the one of the clarkson reviews and he says the murcielago is better and i agree. i think the murcielago looks better

I'd take the gallardo anyday. It's easier to drive, smaller and fast enough for most daily drives. Yeah you don't get the scissor doors, but heck i wouldn't want to pay the premium anyway. It's the engine, the noise and the looks that count.

A lot of my friends say they dont like the gallardo cause of its looks, or because its partly german now. I would have to say it looks great, i would have rather had it full italian but what can u do. I have seen a few at the miami auto show and i love them. Ill buy one when i get rich one day.

The Gallardo is the ultimate sports car , its even better than the 360 modena , it only lacks the prancing horse badge . And being very furious and having the reliability of the germans , that car is a truly winner , and looks astonishing too

What so bad about audi? "it is audi" it was said with irony? Anyway i think the nuvolari will be also one of the most promising sports cars in nearest future.. so.. respect to audi.

If riced-out Civics can have scissor doors, I think someone will come up with a kit for Gallardo owners in no time.

8) no doubt that murcielago is better, but Gallardo´s design is.....how can i resume it.....gallardo is the best looking lambo (by far).
so, i would pick gallardo..

The Gallardo is one of the best cars you can buy today because of it's looks, practicality, and sportiness.

I like the Gallardo, but I'd prefer the big daddy instead. I like the idea that certain things are saved for the flag ship Murcielago. It not only saves money and makes the Gallardo more affordable, but gives people "something to shoot for". They key with lower model cars, for all manufacturers is to just get people into the marque, and build customer loyalty. By making a Lambo for $150k, that's a whole new market of people that would never have bought a Lambo before...but after the Gallardo, they drool and save up for a Murc.

I think it's good that Lamborghini finally has some stability and can focus on cars again without worrying about the finances. The Gallardo will make Lamborghini and Audi money and that will keep the ball rolling. The exotic car market would become significantly more boring if Lamborghini were to leave (this is me thinking about the early 90s when they were bounced from Chrysler to Proton, etc.)...

I think the styling is horrible.Even worse than the murcielago. The only bright side is the reliability and driveabilty has been greatly improved.

I like the murcielago a lot better than the gallardo, I'm not a fan of the back of the gallardo, it looks a little "box like" and its too much of an audi for me..I like audi I just wish it was more of a lambo

I'd have the Murcielago too. It was the last of the "real" Lambos as development had begun long before the Audi/VW takeover. The car is like the Diablo and the COuntach before that, but it is slightly more civilissed than both of them

The Murci has the size, power and all the supercar faults that make it a supercar. The Gallardo is a little too practical if you know what i mean...

I wouldn't mind a Gallardo too though\/\/\/\/\/

EDIT - OOps - i forgot i changed my sig

I would take the Murcielago too, i prefer its design except maybe the inside. I don't like the rear of the Gallardo. But it's a very fine car anyway. :D

The Gallardo is the ultimate sportscar if you like cars with Audi-like understeery, computer controlled handling. Maybe it is more functional and practical but if you still want the ultimate driving experience, the Ferrari 360 Modena or F355 with a 6spd manuel is still the way to go.

Have you driven the car? If not, you can't just assume that the car understeers just because Audi has influence in building it. The relationship between the Gallardo and 360 is similar to comparing the Porsche Turbo and GT2. The Gallardo is like the Turbo in that it's easy and comfortable to drive fast, and they both have all-wheel-drive. The 360 is like the GT2 in that they are more difficult to drive, especially at the limit, and are rear-wheel-drove with not as many driver aids.

IMO, the Gallardo is a superior car to the 360 PERIOD. I don't care about the prestige that some may feel Ferrari has that Lamborghini does not. What matters is which is the better car today.

i have seen top gear reviews where tiff needell test drive the gallardo........he said that in the winding road....you'll end up using 1st gear all the way because the gear ratio for the 1st gear is bit too long...so when it's time to change to 2nd gear...there another turns and again you stay in 1st gear  correct me if i'm wrong

Another negative point about the Gallardo, the horribly long gear ratios. I know the car understeers because of the Best Motoring video with the car. It looks as though the car is extremely heavy and understeers easily. Most of you are calling it an Audi and it looks like it handles like an Audi in that Best Motoring video I saw. Tiff also hates the car. He loves the 360 and he thinks most about driver enjoyment. If I had to choose between the Gallardo and the 360, I would choose the 360 and buy an A4 with the $40,000 I save for my everyday driver.

Just to let you know, the price difference is closer to 12k.
Gallardo : $165,900
360 Modena: $153,532
At least this is what Road & Track lists. I can't confirm its validity.

Whoops, the price difference here in Canada is actually $32569. The Gallardo is $255 000 and the Modena is $222 431.

Silvia_Drift, Tiff didn't hate the car, he just preferred the 360. But lets not forget Tiff is a racing driver and I think that has something to do with his preference. There have been tests by Car and Evo (which is the bible basically) that have tested the car in real world conditions and they had a different story than Tiff's.

I also haven't heard/read complaints about the understeer you are on about.

And please don't join the ignorant "It's an Audi"-group. There are too many of those parrots already.

Haha well I have to say that for me the Gallardo is far better than the 360 (having read about both/ driven neither!) even if it is made by Audi. As far as i'm concerned, any v10 in a body with looks that could kill can pass as a lamborghini!

First of all...Tiff is on the Fifth gear after BBC kicked him and Vicki Butler-Henderson out from Top Gear to bring back Jeremy Clarkson, the Motoring TV God.

And second, derfdiggler or whatever your name is, Only Countach, Diablo and Murcielago variants were given the "Lamborghini" doors. It's reserved for the flagship V12 Lambos. Jarama, Islero, and Espadas had V12, but they were never Lambo flagships. Even Italdesign recognised the holyness of the Lambo doors and didn't put them on the Cala. Only the insane people from Chrysler had the audacity to put scisor doors on that horrible 4-door Lambo concept called the Portofino. It's sacred

And finally...I hate the Murcielago and Gallardo! (sorry Belgians) GAh!@! damn the Belgians! Damn Donkerwolke! Belgian-sketched Lambos@@!!!!#@$!!

I am not just stating the car understeers because "its just an Audi". I have seen it understeer. J-san posted a race between the Gallardo, 360, NSX-R, 911 Turbo and the Gallardo set slower times around Tsbuska racetrack than the 360. The NSX-R also set the fastest times. Also, the heavy understeer that the Gallardo produces is obviously apparent in the video.
