JAbba, question for you man

yesterday i was driving down and a murcielago came up besides me ....... his engine sounded nice in idel but then the fans that cool down the engine came on and well...... it sounded like a crappy ass bettle...

does ur lambo or ferrari sound like this when the fans turn on?? its the first time i sit besides one of these supercars and i was disapointed of the sound ..... sounded like crap with the fans on , but maybe they were broken or something..



BTW, i kicked myself when i couldnt find my camera on time

the fans must have been with junk, or he might have had an accident and then fixed it up. After a crash, a car can never be the same. I tell this to you by experience lol.

As they have a lot of work with this type of engine, fans are noisy, i already noticed that on a Testarossa that was just beside me on a red light.
I can't say if it's the same for every supercar :?: the good way is to put an exhaust that cover this noise :wink:

well a testarosa is kindda old, this was a brand new one. btw i hated the look of it, but WOW i saw it right besides me and now i love it..... exept for the lamo noise.... such huge tires, nice sound of the engine, cool lights, when it was coming up behing me i was like NO WAY, THAT CAN NOT BE A CARRERA GT!.. and it wasnt.... but it was an awsome car

The fans are extremely loud on the Diablo when they kick in...I did make a video of it a while back...you would be amazed at how strong the airflow is that they output out of the rear...

The 355 is the same but alot less dramatic....

You have to remember that there is ALOT of heat generated by a V12 that needs ALOT of cooling...to be honest with you...I find the fan noise adds to the drama of the car...I mean with the fans a V12 and Tubi Sports exhaust...its almost impossible to have a conversation with someone when standing next to the car on "tick" over.

I would love to have a problem with overly loud cooling fans if it meant I was rocking a Ferrari or Lamborghini.

they are still amazing machines, and for all u guys that wer like me an dhated the murcielago.. go see it in the flesh, ull love it

By chance I was able to get a close inspection of a Murcielago this past weekend, the engine bay specifically. You'd think that a $100k+ car would be treated a little nicer. None of the aluminum parts had been polished from the factory, and as a result, everything was covered w/ oxidation.

Well, you have got to remember, not only do they have big engines, but they were built for serious driving. Need to get rid of all that heat somehow!

fans can get annoying, my experience is that the fan noise on jeeps, and dodge trucks is the most annoying at low speed, as they are fairly high cfm, but they are also belt driven.
if annoyed by things besides engine noise, opt for a N/A car that is air cooled, and no fans for cabin ventilation :)
i can cirtainly live lively with fan, turbo, or supercharger noise

I am actually happy to hear that. It means that they
haven't taken all the crudeness out of it after all. Which
means that it is still a Lamborghini; untamed, a car with
true character. :D

i thought most of the engine bay was covered in black crackle powder coating?

I'm not saying I want 'bling' ... I just assumed that the extra step would be taken given the price of the car. I mean, you put a motor on display like that, it should be flawless. Did I mention the tail lights were fogged up also? :lol:

This is interesting, I never thought about the fasns noise in a supercar, and yes I agree with Jabba, a supercar must be extreme in everything, fan noise included
