the VW beetle will no longer be produced, kinda sad, i always liked staring at them.. don't know why
hahah the car that hitler helped create has came to a end
"The Beetle has achieved an unbelievable cult status across the world, not least because its creation marked the launch of what has since become the largest car company in Europe. "
"Clearly, Volkswagen Group has grown well beyond its origins as the maker of Adolf Hitler's "people's car". "

I thought they stopped producing it a few years ago, also in Mexico, until I saw it on the news today.
It's a pity. I kinda liked it. The car had character, which cannot be said from the current VolksWagen cars. And I've seen some nicely tuned models as well.
That air-cooled boxer engine sounds fine too. Even if it was only 1300cc.
And it proved the poiont that everyone could run a cheap car without having to go for a freaking diesel engine.

Yep, I liked the old beetle too. The new one is more of a girls car in my oppinion.
There are some very nice beetles driving around.
By the way, does anyone have those herbie movies on divx??? Liked those as a child, but haven't seen one in a very long time.
PS: if my spelling is not so good... I'm a bit drunk at the moment so :P

1zippo1, your spelling is better than ever :D Keep it up, hehe.
I used to like Herbie as well, but I'm afraid I'd feel quite embarrassed about that if I saw those movies again today.

Where did you see those movies? Did you rent them? Because I'm looking for them on the internet. Would be nice to have them on divx.
By the way, just looked up some info about the movies, the original one from 1966 is a black & white one, directed by george lucas.
In 1974 there was a coloured movie: Herbie rides again.
1977: Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo.
1980: Herbie Goes Bananas.
1981: Herbie the Matchmaker.
And apparently there even was a TV serie: Herbie, the Love Bug.
By the way, it's nothing to feel emberassed about. I love old movies & I love cartoons :D So if someone should feel ashamed, it should be me :P

A black and white movie on the Beatle from 1966 directed by George Lucas. Whow, that one must have a cult status. I'd like to see that one.
The ones I saw were Monte Carlo and Bananas. I used to have 'em on VHS, but they've bee erased for over 10 years now I'm afraid. No luck on Kazaa either.
I saw all Herbie's movies lot of times as a child.. masterpieces! :)
