The dutch Carmagazine Autovisie came with a 'scoop' today:
Toyota will take on the likes of Honda NSX, Nissan Skyline, Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari 360 Modena with their TXS

A mid engined supercar with a V10 engine appears to be ready for production.
Just one small problem: Production will start when Toyota wins their first GrandPrix in Formula 1 :shock:
And based on their perfomance at Albert Park during the previous weekend that might take a very long time :lol:

they look like 3d renderings...and the front looks like a re-badged bent enzo :cry:

looks fairly promising...but seeing as how toyota has to win a GP in F1 before it'll be built, it may take a while before we see more prototypes :roll:

They're renderings made for Autovisie after extensive talks with various Toyota engineers.

like the car, but only the rear is to sweet for a supercar IMO, the use of a v10 engine sounds good to me, shame that toyota's 3L V10 will have to win first....

the top looks like it came right off of a Koenigsegg CC,
and there's a little porsche in the rear. It looks like the
Ultimate Celica concept from the front. I like the front,
but the rear looks a little to rounded of.

Some of there F1 team guys came from Manardi, :( so
don't expect to much any time soon.

Ive seen so many Toyota proyects using the V10 developed from the F1 or their V12 from the Chairman Japan only Limousine ( i guess that is the name ) .
There was a much better concept shown by R&T last year.

This was the last one , looks nice in Grey , but there was a previous one that i will try to find ...

I had seen the yellow and white models on R&T way back ago...and it did look pretty cool...those pics really dont show the car...

IMO it's a good move Toyota's trying to pull...I mean with the Supra dead, they need a car to compete with the Skylines, NXS and such...

There was a red one at the Geneva show. I had never seen the car in grey either, but you must have heard/read about it. It's the Italdesign Toyota Volta. There's been a thread on it here at JW. It's not a project that is being considered for production though.
