how very interesting.. At times the m3 wins the other the RS4 avant wins..
Are these cars that even where it comes to the point where only drivers matter?

It's just an S4 Avant, not an RS4. There's only about 4HP difference between the two. The S4 gets the jump on the launch b/c of the Quattro, and extra torque of the V8, but the M3 is a little lighter, so it catches up fairly nicely. All in all they're very close cars. I think the M3 is more sporty than the S4 though, even without it being an avant. :P

Both cars are great. Really like the new S4! :D Audi's 4.2L V8 is a sweet engine. It's really nice to see audi catching up to BMW in performance! Even though the M3 is a slightly quicker, most magazine articles rate the Audi ahead of the BMW overall. The biggest difference between the two is that the rear doors on the M3 are kinda tough to find! :wink:
