A couple of curve and section names (Breidscheid, Steilstreckenkurve, Hedwigshoehe, Eiskurve and Galgenkopf) are missing in the map above though. Also often referred to unofficial names aren't mentioned (T13, Miss-Hit-Miss, Lauda Links, Angstkurve or Mutkurve).

The trip reports are very nice to read as well. It provides a taste of the atmosphere there. Another good one for trip reports is http://www.jwhubbers.nl which is also mentioned on Ben Lovejoy's site.

Hehe. :D I also have a pdf file by Sport Auto on the lines of the Nurburgring with pictures. It's recent and in English. If you're interested, I could post it in the Photo Gallery or, if that's not possible, I can send it to you.

The ring will be officially open again this sunday. I'll try to be there if the weather's ok. Anybody else planning a trip?

I wish I could say yes...

Very interesting! BTW, even if it has 174 turnes, knowing roughly were you are going to put you wheels on is important and useful

Mine isn't either, but 'das' is neither male nor female. However, I do think schleife (loop) could be female, in which case it's supposed to be 'die Nordschleife'. Maybe a german speaking member could shed some light on that.

I see 'der' and 'die' Nordschleife on the website, so I doubt they know it themselves. Luckily my dictionary is within reach: Schleife is female, Ring is male.
DIE NORDSCHEIFE DIE (Simpsons joke, got it? :D )
Anyway, der ring was closed this weekend because of the snow. :(

Yes thats right draak666. Its "die Nordschleife" but "der Nürburgring".
German is a bit tricky in grammar
For example: "der Löffel, die Gabel, das Messer"
the spoon, the fork, the knife
So i can understand everybody who is not speaking german having problems with the german grammar.
It´s sad they close the ring because of snow. Would be funny driving on a white Nordschleife.
I like snowy roads because then i can go sideways in my 40 kW Golf 2 :D
Every golf 2 is shit. I mean that it already was a piece of crap when it was built, but mine is in very good conditon. It has only 50.000 km on it.
I drove 25.000 km in the last two years. The car was built in 1991.
It has no rust or anything else, only not enough power :D
But i hope i will never have an accident in this car.
I know that a smart is much better in such a case than a golf 2.
