As for what to buy and Evo 8 or Subaru STi?
It's all down to personal taste and how much money you have to keep the car running?

The Evo 8 is quick, drive and handles well and in my personal opinion looks better thant he STi. The issue I have is the running costs. If you take it easy the car does 25mpg, if you boost everywhere then 7mpg is not uncommon. Also they do have a tendancy to munch rear diffs if pushed hard all the time.

The STi is reliable and still quick but I find it uglier than the Evo 8 and also has less power.

BTW, is this your first car? If so I would not recommend either of the above as if you don't learn to control the beast then you will find yourself in a ditch quite easily. The Automatic Yaw Control on the Evo takes some getting used to and the 4wd is a different beast to FWD or RWD.

If you have $50k to actually spend on a car how about a stepping stone motor like a Honda Integra (Acura RSX i think they are called in the States and Canada). Just a thought :)

Hi there and welcome to Jabbasworld...

So u want to get either the scooby or the evo? The STI takes the king of the hill crown imho- as a road car for daily use rather than a weekend toy it kills the evo. In 2.5l flat flour form with a decat exhaust there is little that could keep up with you. The scooby has a better ride, stronger brakes and with DCCD (the advanced center diff control) its yaw damping is superior i.e. its easier to control when its almost out of contol :wink:
Subaru build quality is not only superior but its interior is the better place to be.

If you upgrade to the prodive handling pack(avail in the UK )- u get a car that embarrasses the evo around a track but still maintains the forgiving subaru character. The best part is that the Scooby is one of the few cars today that u can get away with driving on gold wheels :D

BTW - u the first woman i know who actually wants to own whats considered by many to be the ugliest cars currently being made(Dumbasses!)- CONGRATULATIONS on having such good taste :mrgreen:

marina it realy depends on what you want the car for, a daily driver or a weekend cruiser. but seeing as there is more WRX owners here than EVO owners i think the rex would be a better choice.
just take one of each for a "quick, hard" test drive and see which one isnt smoking when you take it back :)

You can't go wrong with either an EVO or a WRX STi. First check the story of the Canadian user in this thread out, because it sounds like quite a hassle to get an EVO in Canada. Both of them are pretty cool cars for a girl I think. I've never seen a girl driving one, so they'd make an original choice.

oh, and by the way, not all cars are designed with turn-in in mind, but other factors such as compfort, and absolute lack of cost for example.
