I looove the M3 but with the manual. The SMG in my opinion is just a modified Autobox. A real SMG can be found in the TVR T440 R (also at a $10,000 price). The "real" SMG has a clutch pedal used for launches, and down shifts for the sake of the clutch disk itself. In order to shift up you bang the lever back, and down gears the lever goes forward...Once again, just my opinion. Do post some pix, never the less it is an amazingly engineered and beautiful car. Do you have the 19" wheels?

My Clio Cup have this gearbox (sequential with clutch) and it's the best thing I've ever seen. You can change gears as fast as you want, and you always have the control on the engine thanks to the clutch. This doesn't happen in a electronic sequential gearbox without clutch.

Clio Cups have the real SMG? I would get a car just for that gearbox. Thats the true 'box.

Dark grey and red inside is my perfect combination for the M3... but I would have taken the manual gearbox. Those sequential gearboxes are funny at first, but then become boring (I have an Alfa Selespeed).

perfectly agree with you. Those sequential gear-boxes become boring very fast

The drawback of these systems is the high wear of the transmission and clutch. You have to rebuild it after an x-thousand kilometers... The system is ideal for circuitcars, but because of the high wear not that ideal for a everyday road cars....

You can adjust the harshness of the gear change on the SMG gear box.
32 different settings I believe, adjustment for shift speed and harshness 8)

E46 M3 - the SMGII has 6 settings for manual shift from slower to faster and basically the same 6 setting for auto mode. To set the highest setting you have to disable DSC. There is also a sports button for more responsive throttle response.

Yoo, Boeboe84847, where are youuuuuuu. I think by not answering you just
proven that you have a lot of imagination, wich is not a bad thing, but here's a
piece of advice, keep your fantasy's to yourself.
