Ok, maybe in the military they are practical, but in everyday circumstances, I don't think so. They are 8-feet wide! and HUMVEEs have beefed up suspension, CITS stock, and the slant rood. 195hp and 430 lb.ft. torque is a little bit low. But I guess its what you can expect out of a vehicle nearing a quarter of a century old!...Overall, I think they are over-rated.

Yeah, id love an H1, while id never be caught dead in an H2. It really is my favourite off-road vehicle.

The first civilian Hummer that I saw was up at Lake Tahoe during ski season. It was blazing a path through a snow-filled parking lot that came up to its grill. I also saw a Subaru Forester doing the same thing though...hahaha.

Absolute excess, I agree. But arguably, the same could be said of anything more powerful than a Honda Civic if you're talking everyday use. So, we have our Hummers, Lambos and Porsches. :lol:

Meh, I'm not really into off-road vehicles or off-roading in general. I like road racing and drifting better. I would never own a 4x4 truck or SUV unless I needed it for a job or something.

I am like Silvia_Drift, but the H1 is the bomb when it comes to off road capabilties for a stock vehicle. If you ask me, I would take a K5 blazer and do a little tweeking and get about the same performance for about 1/4 the cost

Haha, very true. I also saw a website dedicated to cars which got mangled by H1's. There was also...*ahem*, a wall which got in the way one of these brutes, and yes, the hummer was barely sctatched.

H1's are good but H2 in contrast sucks ass
