What the hell was that?

They did quote the 0-60 figure which is quite nice for the car, but they say it is only 8 tenths slower to 160km/h. Did they mean the Murcielago(italian rival) because if they are using the same test for their 160km/h the Enzo does it in 6.6 seconds.

8.9 -6.6 = 2.3 seconds.

Even if they got it wrong and it was 7.9 it would still be 1.3 seconds.

In this class of car that is a hell of a long time. Hell the F40 and F50 beat that to 160km/h.I'm not saying they are better cars, but this article seems a little off to me.

And what is that little remark in the yellow. The Enzo reaches 354.xx km/h(tested) and does the standing km quicker than the European Mclaren at about 175mph. Unless there is some massive problem with the Enzo the Saleen doesn't stand a chance in terms of straightline pace and isn't quite up to it in corner pace either.

In face the R&T 0-100-0 test had it up against the Murcielago..... and it lost.
It doesn't appear to be an Enzo competitor at all.

oh and racer thanks for the article

Sorry just thought of something else. Everyone knows the Enzo is a lot quicker than the F40 right, completely separate from any stats mags like Evo and octane say it is much faster in a straightline.

Well the Enzo is .8 seconds quicker than the F40 to 160km/h. The S7 even if it was only .8 seconds would still be way behind. However it is just about 3 times that time behind based on their stats.

hmmm I'm really starting to hate this mag

In my Car and Driver mag they tested the S7, Enzo and Murcielago. ^That magazines numbers are alittle off.

S7:
0-60= 3.3
0-100= 7.6
1/4 = 11.6@126mph

Enzo:
0-60= 3.3
0-100 = 6.6
1/4 = 11.2 @ 136mph

Murcielago (slow in this comparison)
0-60= 3.8
0-100= 9.5
1/4 = 12.6@116mph

The S7 would give the Enzo a run for its money around a small track, but the Enzo does have an advantage in straightline speed. For having a hundred less ponies than the enzo, the S7 is pretty close in performance. The S7 makes it all up in its weight and more torque. The S7 only ways 2865lbs and the enzo weighs 3262lb. The murcielago should have went on a diet because it weighs 2 tons. The S7 is a great car, and its from America. [/u]

Well I believe the S7 R&T track tested had a problem. They said it had a weird hole in the powerband.

Also the S7 might have a chance on a small track, but the Enzo brakes better, produces more lateral Gs and does the slalom better.

The S7 is obviously an awesome car, I'm not knocking it all, but it is a NORMAL supercar. In the same strain as F40s, F50s and possibly even Zondas(pacewise)

There are only a few cars Enzo, CGT and perhaps the Koenigsegg if they ever get it working that really are in that upper stratosphere of supercars.

edit: Here is the R&T site for the actual 0-100-0 tests. Admittedly the 0-100 is a little slow, but that is what it got on that day. Though if we were to make the S7 a second quicker to 100(7.6) look where it is compared to the Enzo, and also consider the Enzo's 0-100 time is .3 seconds off it's best also.

Arrrrrggggghhhhh I hate chrome wheels...especially on a nice car like the S7. I hope those aren't standard. :(

I agree with you guys that it isn't in the same class as the Enzo, et al; but it also costs a lot less than those...

Great scan racer_f50. Damn, this is a nice car!

Does anyone know the max downforce of this monster?

Anyone know the pricetag on this bad boy. To me it looks like the rear is Lambo, and the front is a McLaren. Doesn't get me that excited.

YEah, those wheels are a little bit much, but whatever I mean, it is the first true american sports car which can compete with the Italian/German hyper cars. The Cobra was based on the brittish AC Bristol so it doesn't count. The original GT40 could compete on the track...but the road version was NOT civilized at all! Imagine how much one of these bad boy Saleen's will be worth in say, come, 20 years or so? :!:
