If I'm not mistaken thats the Turbo S , and I think in the U.S. they have the X50 version which is 450bhp as well, I dont know if they are the same thing but different names for different countries or what...I just know the upgrade is really expensive

Yeh it is true that there is a performance package, it was mentioned when tiff was testing and comparing the 911 turbo and the new SL 55 AMG

Just to make clear, it's not called Turbo S.

lol 30hp causes .4 second drop in 0-60 time? im will to bet that its a hp understatement. and to be clear i understand that it comes with the GT2s turbos and some other fun little elements. in my opinion its worth it, because if u were to redo the engine and get the turbos im willing to bet it would be more than $17,888 porsche is chargin. also its 444hp when i looked at car configutor.
umm i think it uses the same block as the gt3 and gt2, and the same turbos as the non-X50

On Vox (auto motor und sport) they said that this model from 0-100 in 3.8 sec!!!
It can't be faster than a GT2!
With 450Hp, its still weaker than the GT2...not to mention the weight difference! :)

Maybe there isn't an official performance package at all

heres what i found off the porsche website.
The Porsche 911 Turbo will undoubtedly provide a driving experience that is one of the most compelling ever created. The origin of that experience is the proven Porsche philosophy of continuous evolution and refinement; not only in terms of outright performance, but also when it comes to personalization.
On today’s 911 Turbo, the options available include a comprehensive engine upgrade. Key modifications include larger compressor and turbine units together with uprated intercoolers and an increase in boost pressure from 0.8 to 0.9 bar. The finished product is a jump in outright power from 415 to 444 hp.
Maximum torque is raised to a remarkable 457 lb-ft, enabling rapid acceleration and enhanced flexibility over the entire engine speed range.
Given the extensive nature of the modifications to the engine and gearbox, this particular package is only available as a factory installed option.
its from:
http://content3.us.porsche.com/prod/911/turbo.nsf/usaenglish/engineperformance_enhancement
so basically the way i understand it
and this is the description from the car configator is this
Raises power output to 444 hp. Includes modified turbo chargers, intercoolers, electronic control units and transmission. Note: Also available in conjunction with Tiptronic S.
so IT DOES HAVE DIFFERENT TURBOS

Yeah, that XD50 power package is available, but why not wait for the 2005 (997) model Porsche? It will have 450hp, for the same price, with standard 19" rims for better performance and more grip?

I found it!!! Its the 911 Turbo Power Kit!
It has a bit better performance than the 462PS GT2... 8)

yea the X50 is just a boost in HP i believe..the turbo by itself is crazy fast anyways, but if you have the means to spend that much on a 30-40 HP boost, go ahead...i would still take a GT2 over a turbo X50..rear wheel drive is more reliable from what ive heard...

I think its great that Porsche has this option. Altough, personally, I would go for the similarly priced Tech-Art stage 2 tuning package which includes:
Sport air filter, TechArt Motronic engine management, sports induction pipes as well as TechArts own turbo charger.
The result of this is 530hp and 545 lb-ft and they give a guarantee for the engine (not that you're going to need it...)

Its just a Turbo with the XD50 package. Just you all wait for the 997 Turbo. 19" rims, 450hp, smaller turbos, less boost, and 440lbt.-tq
