View Full Version : Viña del Mar Festival
Hi, I want to know how many people here know something about this festival?
For the people who don't know. It is a song festival (like the San Remo or OTI festival in Italy) that award a song and his singer. But the most interesting part for the people is that it shows important singers and groups (mainly spanish spoken artists). The festival take part every year in the city "Viña del Mar" Chile.
I'm asking this, because the press in Chile says that the festival is "internationaly know" or "int. important", so I want to know how many people really knows it. For example I've seen people from Israel, US, Italy, Germany contesting for the price.

.
FIrst ... please update your profile , i assume you are Chilean ....
I think most ppl dont know the existance of our festival ... nowadays the artists are very crappy , this year we invited TOTO , who the fuck is that ? i think my grandfather had to know him ....
The only possitive about this , is that we get Pampita in our country for 1 week .... i am sure you guys know her a lot :D
The channel that broadcast the show said that they will invite Christina Agilera :? and Avril Lavigne  , but they couldn't. I think they didn't have enough money. They spend the money on latin artists.

Sorry, now it is updated. By the way, that wasn't really important :D

Ive never liked the show either ... and this comes from someone that lives in Santiago de CHile and spends vacations in Reñaca , Viña del Mar , hehe , we all hate it
The humor is very good almost every year.
The problem with the festival is that the producers prefer to bring a lot of average or poor artists than a few but really good.
For the people who don't like the spanish pop music, obviously will don't like the festival.
English spoken artists that have come are few, for example: INXS (last year), CCR, TOTO (this year), etc.... Always "old" groups.
I always liked, at least, one number of the show (humor or music) per year. It is not toooooo bad
