what ever you do, dont get AOL, i hate it so much, but thats the only way i can talk to my freinds, so i keep with it. but i guess it depends on where you live too, because if you live in or around a big city, you can probably find a good local browser

I use opera - its the fastest, glad to see they have left out the adspy component in the latest version as well(plus it uses less memory than before!)

I just use IE 6.1. I just recently download netscape again, but I haven't used it yet.
BTW how is AOL? Stupid people rave about how good it is and the smart people say its the worst pos on earth. So I'm curious how bad it really is.

aol is horrible in my opinion because its always bogged down, half the time, you cant even get onto the internet, its bull, they have more users than they know what to do with. the last few updates (7.0, 8.0, and 9.0) have all been absolutly pointless, theyve changed the backround and added a few more options, in my opinion 9.0 should be 7.2. and even if you get online, theres no promises on wether or not you can stay on, because if they get too many people trying to log on at once, theyll start kicking people off. its horrible, and the only reason i can think of that people use it (myself included) is because all their friends use it just the same.

i like opera as well. also i like it how it shows the link to what you're dl so you can put it into a dl manager if its one of those hidden links. eg racingflix

Mozilla, IE with the Google toolbar, and I just got Firefox.

Crazidude, I dont recommend AOL. I stopped using after they made version 4.0. But, I liked AOL's e-mail. Its up to you.

Time Warner (or whoever has the rights to AOL) spent millions, possibly billions on advertising AOL which is why AOL is this big.

and even better you can see if its a disguised link to something you'd rather not click ;)

heh ic... I was never planning to use AOL. I was just curious about how bad it is. My friend said that it was super fast when he was on dial up.

I used like AOL because they sent me those free diskettes and I could use em to store stuff. But now they give stupid cds which I can't do anything with.

There are no incomplete versions of Opera anymore. They are using an banner in the upper right corner beside the menu. It isn't annoying at all, actually. If you buy/register it the banner is removed, and you get access to support, I think.
Download at http://www.opera.com/

Great features of Opera:
Pop-up block that works
Download manager
Mouse gestures (so that you don't have to move the mouse up to the menu for the most used buttons. I love this!)
Built in e-mail program utilizing data base technology.

This makes no sense... what has "being around a big city" got to do with finding a decent web browser?

Uhm - the Internet is "virtually" everywhere ----
