As far as I know, some medications were found on the floor lying next to his body. Let us also not forget that he was once caught 'drugged'.
This is the second huge loss of life in the past month or so (hungarian International football player died on pitch). +RIP+

and again I say, get the fuck out of here, your small minded crap is sickening, and is whats wrong with the world today.. this makes you 'weak' and 'lame', as your too small minded to accept that anything but what you say could be right, and try to force your opinion on everyone else
how the hell can you know what drives someone who is mentally ill to kill themselves, all I can say is I hope you find out personally as you're being such a dick
but whats worse, you're jumping to conclusions and assuming the guy did that, and then slandering his name, have you no respect that you must speak ill of the dead, especially someone who achieved more in his life than you can prolly dream of, let alone accomplish
 :fist:
Yes thamar, stop this shit.. you are free to have your own ideas, but better keep them for yourself in this case I guess...
It's hard to understand suicide for me too... but I guess you can reach a point where you can't see other solutions... he was in deep depression for quite a while now, so it's fairly possible he actually did that, but pay some respect at least...
You can call it suicide of course, but the dumb part is insisting on the fact it is for lame ppl and you hate them...

Marco was a man like us. The stop in the Giro was for him an incredible shock...yes,maybe he was doped, but threating him like a shit is not right. He was in trouble, he needed help, but no-one was with him

I feel terrible to hear this sad news- as a keen cyclist, and fan of Lance, Marco and Jan Ulrich I wish his family the best of comfort in this time of mourning.
He was alleged to have taken drugs, nothing was ever proven !(he had a high haematocrit level which is a possible indicator, its important to note that training at high altitude can also increase ur hct)
ITs well known that he was in depression and receiving treatment. Pity that he had to die this way and alone
Thamar it is quite evident from ur callous posts that you are not medically trained. If u understand the neuropsychological and physical aspects of depression and suicide you would realise that without treatment, these individuals make "the right decision" in their minds eye when they do decide to take their lives. The idea that their behavior is cowardly is an unfortunate viewpoint of society who lack the proper understanding of a serious medical illness. It requires long term pharmaceutical and psychotherapy to cure someone of depression and suicidal ideation.
To suggest that you would only appreciate the seriousness of this affliction of our trying times, when a family member of yours does commit suicide is terrible as well! What I do suggest is that you do some reading online of this condition and its treatment.
If it takes a high profile death to educate - then it is not a complete loss to this world. I hope that members of this forum do take the time to evaluate our mental health and seek appropriate treatment... before another tragedy should happen.
