hi, my name is svenson. i'm pretty new here, so i'd like to introduce my car 8)

it's a carbon black m3 e46, smg ii gearbox, with the beautiful original bmw 19" wheels, and eibach springs installed (2-2.5cm lower, about 1 inch):

http://pic10.picturetrail.com/VOL349/1925752/3719453/45719563.jpg

i like it black, so i added smoked/dark backlights (from in.pro):

http://pic10.picturetrail.com/VOL349/1925752/3719453/45719572.jpg

did i say i like it black? this plastic console right under the smg stick comes in some titan colored plastic. i removed the chrome SMG letters, filled the holes and colored the console in semi gloss black. this perfectly matches the black leather seats and the steering wheel (where i had to replace the lower spoke which came in this titan colored plastic too...):

http://pic10.picturetrail.com/VOL349/1925752/3719453/45719362.jpg

that's how many kilometers i did with this car until a few weeks ago. it's even more now :P damn i like this car!

http://pic10.picturetrail.com/VOL349/1925752/3719453/45719589.jpg

i'll add some more pics of my other mods later. this includes a supersprint exhaust, black spoiler "kidneys", and black/white bmw stickers instead of those original blue/white ones.

i hope you like the pics (and i hope i did this album posting correct so you can see the pics...)

EDIT: uploaded pics in bigger format

"a poor 320i e36", but equipped with nice wheels. do you live in beautiful ticino?

I was born there, but live in Kanton Vaud now... near Lausanne :D

@TT:
so you're pretty close to geneva. i guess you're visiting the "auto salon" each year :wink:

btw, i found a pic showing the above mentioned black front spoiler "kidneys":

http://pic10.picturetrail.com/VOL349/1925752/3719453/45719594.jpg

the pic was shot while driving on the german hockenheim race track. check out my cool "g-meter" :mrgreen: (well, the pic used to be a bit larger before i uploaded it, sorry for this stamp size photo :oops: )

i put philips silverVision blinker bulbs, btw. that's why the front blinker glasses don't show any sign of orange color.

EDIT: postet pic with more pixels 8)

Sure, I visit every year (2004 included :P)

And nice to see you trashed your baby on track already :D to bad Switzerland is not really "well equipped" for that :D

this car is real fun! the smg gearbox is just astonishing. gear changes in highest level (S6) are simply brutal, done in 0.08 secs :shock:

Oh BTW, completely off topic, I lived in Zurich for a couple of years :D close to Uto-brucke

at the age of 24 you've lived in quite a lot of parts of big switzerland :mrgreen:

svenson69 car look amazing. How do you manage to keep it clean all the time. My borther use to have a 328 in jet black it was a pain to keep stopless.

well, it IS a pain to keep it clean and scratch-free. this carbon black gets scratched when you only look at it :shock: :|

Very Clean. . . The E46 M3 is definitely one of the best looking cars on teh market.

Have you thought about upgrading the to the new mid 2003 Model Year LED Taillights? Of course you'll also have to flash your computer too, but that is simple.

Very nice. . . oh yeah, you might want to get some dark tint ;) .

those led lights look nice, but they're not dark enough for my taste :wink:

? sorry, i didn't get that one :oops: do you mean dark tint for the backlights or for my skin 8)

svenson, any tips on how to stop getting jerky shifts on manual S-6? Do you have to lift your foot and shift and then depress the pedal or can you just power shift it?

Yet another beautiful car. Just like you, I love the color black and it suits your baby pefectly. however, the backlights aren't to my taste.

Welcome to Jabbasworld :)

jerky shifts in s-6? what exactly do you mean by jerky (english is not my primary language)? foot down, keep an eye on the rev counter, at 8000rpm use the right paddle and boom, after a strong hit in the back and some "tire noise" you keep accelerating in the next gear :P if you call this jerky, then jerky is quite cool :wink:

of course you can lift your foot while shifting, but who cares when going fast 8)

thanks 8) i'm pretty happy not everybody has my taste (concerning the car, the color or only the backlights), would make a nice car look boring if all of them looked the same.

here a pic comparing the sweet-red original (pre-2003) backlights to my darker ones. but hey, i don't want to dwell about them here any further (i'm not THAT proud of them) :wink:

^^^^^^So next car must be white :lol: but thats sooo ugly, we don't reaal have that much snow, its more rain and mud, believe me thats as worse as dust or even worser :(

right, it's the sequential gearbox. there're cars i'd choose manual shifted, but the m3/smg (e46, not e36/smg I) is the PERFECT combo 8) never buy without!

@all:
thanks for the welcome. have been pretty busy the last weeks :|

@callen:
i removed the m3 badge 'cause it looks cheap in my opinion. and i like it more the "understatement way". insider know the car by its special parts like the exhaust, the mirrors, the wheels, the power dome etc. and all the rest shouldn't care about what kind of bmw i'm driving.

@SPEEDKILLAR:
well, the car isn't scratch free anymore :x -- only, on the pix you won't notice :wink:

@Erez_Avital:
other mods besides springs and color stuff: supersprint exhaust, spacer wheels (do you call it that way in english?). next is probably a sparco drivers seat. i'll make some pix in the next days since we finally have nice weather here :P

silver is indeed a good car color. you won't see any scratches (the ones from washing the car i mean), you don't see dirt that good, and colors like black or silver never bore me. but i guess i will again buy black next time :twisted:

Dang dude: I just realise that: you live in Switzerland, you should have come to Kirchen Hausen, Germany, to the marvellous Ferrari day I attended ;)

well, the enzo is for sure one of the most impressive sportscars ever :shock:
but i have to admit that i'm no ferraristi. they have nice cars, nice sound. but i never desired to have one. if i'd win one in a lottery i'd sell it and buy something else 8)

Uhm dude, I'm sure that after a ride in it as I did you could change your mind. Not because it's a Ferrari, but because it's FAST :D BTW, check this M3 out ;) do you know the owner? :P

http://www.jabbasworld.net/photopost/data/504/83col481bmwe46m3.jpg

Sorry, I didn't want to go OT, but really, I was so shocked about the ride in the Enzo that now I wonder why I was the only one that actually had it :D everbody in a 300 km range should have paid for it :D

no i don't know that car/plate. in zürich i see several m3's in carbon black every day. i guess 50% of all those cars ever made drive in zürich :roll: :wink:

i prefer never to sit in a driving enzo. after that i'd think my m3 is a snail :x

edit: that car looks pretty out-of-the-box: orig. exhaust, lamps, blinker bulbs (orange), badge. like 95% of zürichs m3's

cool 8)

the problom here is really every morning i woke up and went out.. the car.. every morning was full of a thin layer of dust.. and from some reason birds liked taking shit on it when it wasn't inside a closed garage :twisted: (i sometimes parked it outside when the garage was full)
so since then first thing i had the damn tree removed and as much as i love black\drak colored cars.. i really am gonna try and not buy such cars.. cause if you dont clean them for a day here its still ok but for a week... it looks like you went rallying with it... :lol:
