Hello all.
My name is Johnny Bohmer. I just broke the World's Record for Fastest Car in the Standing Mile at the Top Gun Run in Miami, FL. My Ford GT's speed was clocked at 252.97mph. I own a Performance Race shop in West Palm Beach, FL. The link to the record setting run is on YouTube at

Thank you Motorworld for giving us a place to post our accomplishments.

Johnny, I've been following this over at the GT forum as well.
I heard that you were first looking to peg 261 on your next attempt. 275 is bound to eventually happen... if top fuel cars can run @ 300 in just 1/4 mile, a 'street' car can surely start coming close to that eventually... right? :D

it can definitely go faster, atleast few miles have been lost in that miss-shift from 1st to 2nd, but I was wondering would it be possible to upgrade gearbox to some sort of sequential unit?
anyways that's a great car:thumbup:

I gotta get out there real quick just to live down the missed shift. That shot of nos got the car a little squirrely! The car can do 300 in a mile and a half and 275 in a mile with a bit more tweaking and a clean run. I'll keep everyone posted.

You know what's great about your miss shift? The fact that the Texas mile has happened, and nobody can touch you still... for a little while longer. When that happens, then there is more on the table without changing a single thing!
