I always have mixed feeling about the BRE cars. It's great that they're loading a TA with modern performance, but some of the styling is questionable. 19" wheels? Really? The brakes don't need that much clearance and the car certainly doesn't need anymore rotating and unsprung mass. Looking past the Chevy truck headlights, I'm always appalled that they deleted the Pontiac badge from the nose of the car, perhaps some sort of foreshadowing about the fate of Pontiac. :-(
Anyway, it looks like a really fun event that I'd like to drive my car out to someday. It'd be awesome if they actually had some lapping sessions of Road Atlanta instead of just the parade laps.
Speaking of Hot Rod Magazine and Pontiac, their newest issue has a 1980 Trans Am as one of 3 Pontiacs on the cover . . . the same car that Hotchkis used to test fit parts, subframe connectors in particular, on after giving me the offer and backing out a couple of months ago. Stupid "Dan" from Hotchkis. I think my car was not used as it does not have the hoodscoop right now (not as photogenic) and might have had too good of baseline numbers to make the rest of the Hotchkis stuff look good. Well, that was quite a tangent.
