I don't know if anyone here ever seen this here but I just post it anyway. This is a great FWD drifting in Japan.

I guess for fwd, it's a must to use the handbrake to let the rear loose.

inertial movement is also able to put the car into drift.... eg. turning hard right for a briefe moment, then flip the wheel to the left, and you go sideways. that is what i used to do in my old saab 9000t most of the time. by the time i had the car, the ebrake was a bit weak.
i recently found a video of what apears to be of saab making the 9000 do things i never even attempted, and a few things i did... i was amazed... but not suprised by the balance of the car. :)

nice ........ that guy has some skillz cause using the handbreak and still making good drifts is harder than just a normal rwd car

I'm definitely impressed by his drifting skills using the handbrake. It is really tough to drift with fwd car.

Its not that hard to drift in a FWD car. The hardest part is getting the rear wheels out, after that its a cakewalk. I think he has aftermarket rear brakes, my Civic's handbrake wouldnt lock em up. The drums in back suck.

I believe the Civic SiR in Japan has 4-wheels disc brakes. I know how you feel, I had a Civic before and it had a rear drum brakes, yea, it was tough to get it locked up for some reason.

Is that the one with all the Saabs running around on a runway and the vid is put to classical music? That's a great vid, there's some amazing stuff in that. Like the slalom with all the cars going into it from opposite directions and all the 2-wheel driving too. Someone should post a link to that here. I don't remember where I got it, but I'm sure there's a link somewhere.

I wouldnt have a problem drifting a FWD car round a circuit as long as there was a little bit of snow or something to get the back to swing out.

Well :D yea with snow definitely much easier to do. The rear slide out easier when the road is slippery.
