This is the last time the R34 Skyline GT-R's will be seen at JGTC, and the last Skyline GT-R that will be racing around those tracks for quite a while. Current production date for the new (presumably VQ or VK series) V35 GT-R is roughly 2007.

Not only did the Skyline GT-R win the GT500 Series, but NISMO captured the manufacturers title, and (to add to Nissan's achievements) the GT300 series was captured by the Fairlady Z, aka 350Z.

This race was especially important because it will mark an end to the legendary Skyline GT-Rs Japanese GT racing career where the car, could arguably, have been said to be born.

-Motoyama-Krumm has won the Driver's Championship for the GT500 in their Skyline GT-R
-NISMO has won the Team Championship for the GT500 with the Skyline GT-R
-Kinoshita-Yanagida has won the Driver's Championship for the GT300 in their Fairlady Z

Here's a rundown:

The Calsonic Skyline GT-R managed to win round 8 of the GT500 JGTC. More importantly, the Xanavi NISMO Skyline GT-R came in 3rd and Esso Supra in 7th. After Round 7 Wakisaka-Iida's Esso Supra was leading the series with 6-points, with Motoyama-Krumm's NISMO Skyline GT-R in second, with their third place finish in round 8, NISMO not only was able to get a come from behind victory for the Driver's Championship they also managed a win in the Team Championship.

On a side note: This was also the last race for famed racer Keiichi Tsuchiya, aka "Drift King", many of you might know him from his appreances on all those OPTION videos and he is also considered the father of drifting's popularity in Japan. In his last race he managed to finish 2nd in his ARTA NSX, ahead of Motoyama-Krumm, and sandwiched between two GT-Rs.

Well i hope it doesnt look like the G35 coupe because that is nothin like the R34. They need to make it again so that it looks like the old one but with new technology and a little different styling. I hope they bring it to the US too.
