i don't know why you guys would think Nurburgring Ring would be good for modern f1, yes i know it is an amazing track to show off the best drivers, but the compression at the ends of the downhill straights and the banks in the turns would be to much for modern cars, Nurburgring is not good for modern cars same reason Imola pre 1994 was good untill the cars got 2 fast
Nurburgring is an amazing track not just for f1

Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI.
Best
Track
EVAR!
Its a great fast road course set into the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. They already have lots of great racing there, such as AMA superbikes, American LeMans series, etc... and they used to have champ cars  until they went under. I think the only thing keeping F1 out is the lack of infrastructure, such as covered garages for the teams (everyone other than F1 seems to get buy with just transporters  and the lack of hotels around the track. Definately worth going to any race there though. Its beautiful :D
Oh yeah, they host the Brian Redman Internation Challenge vintage racing weekend every year, and this year vintage F1 will be featured.
The track FAQ has lots of great info.

Best Track, not in F1, I would say Laguna Seca. Partly because I live here in the West and wanna see an F1 event and two, it is a pretty exciting track for CART and ALMS.
