Except a normally aspirated V8 swap is cheaper, lighter and more reliable as the motor is less stressed ;)

Cheaper tham put a turbo kit in a S2000?(and some extras)...i really don't know how much a V8 cost there.

And lighter than a F20c??:?:

I agree with the reliability.

And a V8 would ruin the close 50/50 weight distribution of the S2k.

Complete 400bhp LS6/LS2 would be $5000 incuding hardware.

We have gone over the weight issue already, an LSx is abotu 150lbs heavier than the S2000 motor. Now figure in the turbo plumbing, intercooler etc and you are already addig weight to the nose and turning the already peaky motor into a turbo lag hairdryer ;)

V8 = instant torque... ;)

Quality turbo s2k can top 10k easily.

so... where is the RX-7 with the 20B swap?

I'd love to see one of those versus a GTR... but that is just me and my rotary fanboy inside talking, the guy driving the vette sucks as a driver...

i'm not going to disagree with you but i like the fact that someone is doing something different with his S2K.

The differences is what makes cars so interesting.

you saying this kind of confuses me, because it's obvious that people will increase the power of their car rather by fiddling with what they have got, instead of actually axchanging the engine of their car. so you would statistically have more people with an upgraded engine than e.g. let's say the V8 swap which (and i think you can agree with me here) is more unique that the turbo or supercharger.

i understand where you are coming from, it is your oppinion and belief that the engine that the car comes with is put there because it is the perfect match for it and thus makes the car what it is. and by changing the most important thing about the car (the engine) you are taking out the heart or even the soul of the car. that's all fine and dandy, but then we have joe here who really loves the car as it is but wants something extra. inherently i find nothing wrong with and i really like seeing (i mean hearing) e.g. an S2K with that V8 sound.

to me that is a more unique car and experience than the turbo that was bolted on to the stock motor.

is it better? i don't know i haven't driven the car but i simply find nothing wrong with it :)
