Oh yes. On this morning 16 Dec 2008 I was awaken by an earthquke. The strongest one in Sweden for over 100 years. Lasted around 30 sec but I was asleep and only experienced the last 10 or so seconds. It was 4.8 on the Richter Scale and you could feel the house shaking. Pretty interesting experience. No major damages and no one was hurt. Some say that there will be aftershocks and some say that there wont so weŽll just have to wait and see.

Ah yes, Earthquakes. Living in Southern California, they were a normal occurrence. Unless they were 5 or above, no one really paid them any mind. Well, unless you were at the heart of it. Everyone would stop, realize it was an Earthquake, then continue on. I know for those that have never experienced one, it is an unnerving feeling.

Now that I live in Indiana (as of the last 6 months now), it will be Tornadoes I am dodging, rather than shaking from Earthquakes.

There will be aftershocks. Whether or not you'll actually notice them is another issue. We had a noticable earthquake this summer and there were over 30 small aftershocks, none of which I felt. It's fun to monitor though.

I experience my first earthquake two years ago. Having just moved to Athens, Greece after spending an earthquake free life in London till then, it was a weird experience, but that one measured 7.1 and I felt it on the 6th floor of a building.....looking out the window and seeing the various other buildings going to and fro is an image that ill never forget.....so congrats on losing ur earthquake cherry....there really is nothing like ur 1st time:-P
