Hey for those computer people out there I am looking for a new laptop to replace my Toshiba Satellite, cause the graphics card in it is crap. I play a lot of sims (i know I'm a geek) and Fable, and racing games so I need a decent graphics card with decent ram. What I don't need is to spend $1500 on one, so if you guys have any ideas that are in the cheapter range I would love to hear them. Thanks in advance.

another brightonite, perhaps not the same one though.
I recently bought a laptop, an acer, it's probably not up to scratch for your uses but the range is extremely good value so would recommend checking out their range.

Hmm that's the second time Acer has been brought up during my search, what are the specs of yours?

Cool list I really like the Vaio and the HP, thanks

So I can take it to work where I play most of my games most of the time. A PC would be great but then I couldn't play at work. :(

While I'm not particularly up to date on mobile GPUs, these seem to have rather interesting options around that price range in 15" or 17":

Personally i find 17" too much, but if mobile gaming is your thing dual 3870s at $1650 looks appealing: http://www.alienware.com/customize/M17-notebook.aspx?SysCode=PC-LT-M17&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT
Then again i'm unsure if those can top a nice single chip nvidia, I guess some research would be needed.

Your links have brought me trouble in the best possible way. I think the M-17 is just calling my name for me to buy.
Alienware cost a lot.
What I would get is one of Dell's XPS 1530(or w/e it is now) laptops, they come with nice/okay graphics for around $1200.

Yeah I have discovered that, in attempting to customize one with the stuff I want it was coming up to over 2 grand, and that is waaayyyy more then I am willing to spend. I shall go now and check out the Dell XPS. :)
Edit: I have now checked out the XPS and it is nice, I am going to continue searching, and see if I can get a bit closer to my target price. :) Appreciate all the help and suggestions you guys are giving me and keep em coming.

Alienware has become a lot cheaper ever since being acquired by Dell, in the end it really depends on what people are specifically looking for, however it does seem like certain options are a lot more $ on Alienware; ie Dell has a great deal with the memory on the 1530. On the other hand if you want 17", it seems AW is the way to go both price and performance wise. Again, I would read a lot of reviews before going with any of the two.

Looks like a good choice, not from that guy though, his feedback is not so good. Checking out Gateway's website now... :) It's amazing really all the choices that I never thought of and now it comes down to reviews and value for money, oh and the actual cost, lol
