I wonder how they got that thing to hook up so well. It's nice to see someone take a drag car approach to the standing mile. So many standing mile cars, not unlike the Hennessey Vipers, just "slowly" rollout in the start to avoid any launching complications. I wonder if Hennessey has plans to beat this record.

yes, yes, but drag cars usually run ridiculously low tire pressures to get off of the line in a hurry which I'd guess wouldn't be safe for high speeds for the duration of a mile. I'm just curious as to what sort of compromise they used. One of the more recent Hennessey attempts just couldn't get the power to the ground without spinning the tires. When they weren't spinning tires, they were breaking the transmission

Here is a picture of the record setting supra it looks it did the run on normal road tires
No small dragracing wheels
But i guess they where running a dragrace suspension setings
And they did not got into the 6th gear
