I don't think so. They wouldn't make that big of a deal if it was an SV. (By the way, they can't use the Superleggera name again because of litigation ;-)) Well. It'd be a big deal, but not a "It’s not just a new Lamborghini. It’s a new world." big deal. And the license frame/exhaust/diffuser layout doesn't seem to match the Murcielago's, and I don't think Lamborghini will do another design change to the Murcielago in its lifetime.

The Espada rumor's been around for a while (including photographed miniature clay models of the car), and with the Aston Martin Rapide and the Porsche Panamera coming out, I can see no better time for a new Espada.

Who knows, maybe you're right after all. Maybe I'm right... :mrgreen:

Seriously though, like a007apl, I was thinking it's the Murcielago SV / lightweight, rear-wheel drive version. I don't it will be the Espada or the LM002 because Lamborghini already announced that they had no plans of building a four-seater and a SUV (thank goodness!)

"Lamborghini’s top brass swore blind at the launch of the Gallardo that there was no stripped-out Murcielago LP640 waiting in the wings. ‘The LP640 is wild enough,’ Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s president told Car Magazine. But he’s obviously changed his mind – as these pictures prove as evidence. Despite the impenetrable ring of secrecy surrounding the development of this new iteration – no one at Lamborghini will officially acknowledge its existence – sources claim the LP640 will not adopt the Superleggera name, but rather the more hallowed Superveloce badge. First seen on the last of the Miura P400 (the one without the eyelashes around its headlamps) and later on the Diablo SV (Sport Veloce which lacked the VT’s all-wheel-drive system).
Superveloce is Italian for high speed… Expect it to bow in at the Frankfurt Motor Show this coming September, wearing a brash £230,000 price tag.
Although the LP640 is due for a final swan-song power hike before its Walter de’Silva-penned replacement arrives at the turn of the decade, it’s thought that the LP640 SV will go on an extreme diet and rely on a lower kerb weight and shorter gear ratios to give it even more ferocious in-gear go from its mid-mounted 6.5-litre V12.
Like the Gallardo Superleggera, the LP640 SV’s curb weight will drop by an anticipated 100kg to 1565kg, boosting its power-to-weight ratio to 409bhp per tonne. Fitting carbon ceramic brakes, stripping the cabin of everything but the essentials and even using titanium wheel nuts (like on the Gallardo Superleggera) should easily take care of the necessary weight loss, but the LP640 SV will retain its all-wheel-drive layout.
The weight reduction comes from swapping out a number of components with carbon fiber bits, like the door panels, engine cover, wing, mirrors and the central tunnel covering. Lamborghini is expecting to loose about 100-150 kg with this operation giving the Superleggera a weight of 1500-1550 kg instead of the 1665 kg of the LP640.
Whether the gigantic wing in the back will be an option like on the Gallardo, or whether it will be standard is uncertain. But with power likely to be reaching 700 bhp and with the lighter body it can be expected that the Superleggera will reach a top speed of 350 km/h in which case it could use as much help as possible to keep it on the track."

i really think it will be an front engine super sport GT, with a powerfull V10 engine..Just look at Ferrari ! they have the 599 GTB, and its a great car, okey it looks ugly but the car sales god..So why soulden Lamborghini be in the same league ? Lamborghini needs a 3 model to get bigger, a they have the money for it ! SANT'AGATA BOLOGNESE, Italy — Lamborghini says its new 2008 Paris Auto Show car won't be called the Urus, the name floated for several days on automotive blogs across Europe and North America.

Or at least that's the unofficial word late Monday from a Lambo executive who wishes to remain anonymous.

The automaker, a member of the Volkswagen group, has been teasing the automotive world this past week with glimpses of an upcoming new model it plans to unveil at next week's Paris show. Two official photographs generated by Lamborghini show a dramatically styled car with a design that reflects the creative flamboyance evident in the existing Gallardo and Murciélago.

But while revealing certain sections of the new car, namely its distinctive rear valance and front wheel-arch architecture, the Italian supercar maker has been tight-lipped on just what layout the new Lamborghini takes, saying only that all will be revealed at an official unveiling on October 1.
Rumors suggest the secret new Lamborghini could, in fact, be a spiritual successor to the Espada — a sleek four-seater, possibly clothed in a four-door body — to rival the upcoming Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera.

But while its layout remains a mystery, the new car's name appeared to have been uncovered last week, when eagle-eyed netizens unearthed a July 2008 trademark filing lodged with the Trademarks and Design Registration Office of the European Union on behalf of Lamborghini by parent company Audi.

In the filing, Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A. makes provisions for the name Urus to be trademark protected. No further details were supplied, but the name would appear to fit Lamborghini's long-held tradition of naming new cars after famous bulls. The Urus, or Aurochs, was a large type of cattle renowned for its aggressive manner that roamed Europe until its extinction in 1627. In Latin, the name urus also refers to a wild ox.

But that name won't be used on the Paris showcar, according to a Lamborghini official contacted by Inside Line.

Other names that Lamborghini has trademark-protected in the past year include Reventón and Miurad (presumably a derivative of Miura).

I just don't see a smaller car than Gallardo. And it's not like Lamborghini can go cheaper either. There's a little thing called Audi R8 standing in the way. And a front engined Lamborghini sports coupe just wouldn't have any appeal.

Lamborghini just can't make any other "small" car without making it look redundant.

Damn...that headlamp looks...hmm...too germanish, nothing i would expect from lamborghini...it isnt sexy or appealling in any way..reminds me of the countach headlights..and for me thats not a good thing...somehow i feel very disappointed =( although i still hope it'll look good overall.

I think they lost focus. :-(
From the side view, it looks more like a Brabus than a Lambo. IMO they did overdo the desgin.
Maybe with some time we get used to this style, as many of us have with BMW's Bangle.

Except for the tractors, when somebody hears the word "Lamborghini" .... things like "Rock and Roll" "exotic" and on are part of the DNA of the brand. This car shares some DNA with lamborghini design philosophy; but not as a whole.

calling it a "new world" seems to be a PC term to disguise brand diluting; not unlike the Cayenne, Boxter, Cayman, and Panamera from Porsche.

Wow, i so don't like it. Front 3/4 it looks almost like an estate, albeit a rather elegant and sharp one. From the side is well, rather generic. Different rims might help though. I guess i was still expecting a lambo, not a sedan made by Lambo, hope you can see the difference. Front and rear are not too bad, but i feel nobody thought much about the bit that goes in the middle.
W/o the lambo badge i doubt anyone would have given it a second look. Kudos for trying the not quite round wheel wells, very risky and it takes a lot of balls, and i don't like it.

I gotta say, this car looks fucking unbelievable! I wasn't convinced with the first pictures, but the real life pics changes everything! it looks like a Reventon Sedan! 100% Lamborghini from every angle. Now, I am still not comfortable with the idea of a sedan from Lambo...but it just looks badass!

I think they should produce it, in very limited production number though...this car is special and it should remain exclusive, not like the Gallardo which they have been selling like pancakes...I hope nothing changes too much, just loose the rainbow colored LED though, those are just nasty...
