ME Four-Twelve
By far the most dramatic of the four vehicles was the beautiful, purposeful ME Four-Twelve. This supercar was made all the more impressive by the revelation from Trevor Creed, senior vice president of the Chrysler Group design, that the ME Four-Twelve was complete in less than one year.


The ME Four-Twelve name is derived from the mid-engine placement of a quad-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine. Bernard explained the name is appropriate because the car was literally designed around the engine.


The AMG-developed all-aluminum 6.0-liter V12 engine produces 850 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque, and the car has a curb weight of only 2,880 pounds. Power get transferred to the wheels via a 7-speed Ricardo Double Clutch Transmission developed specifically for the vehicle; it uses the latest double wet-clutch technology and electronic controls. The transmission delivers uninterrupted torque to the rear wheels, shifting between gears in 200 milliseconds.


The ME Four-Twelve is intended to set new performance standards for a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive sports car. Although the performance has not been measured in driving tests, with the aid of computer modeling Chrysler expects the ME Four-Twelve to set new performance standards for a rear-wheel-drive mid-engine sports car: a top speed of 248 mph, or 400 kilometers per hour.


The ME Four-Twelve is expected to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and from zero to 100 mph in 6.2 seconds.

~i doubt it will reach production, but rather, will be a test bed for future technology. i hope im wrong. jerone is right, the lights need to change, and there needs to be only 2 turbos lol. just seems a little veyron to me for some reason? mabey like a mix between veyron, and eb110...
i think that *all* the car manufactureres need to concentrate on affordable fast cars, under 30,000 U.S. $ dont get me wrong, i love supercars, but chances are that most of us will never be able to own one, let alone drive them. such an explosion of them in the last few years too...

It is nice and i am sure it is freaking fast, but compare to other supercars, the look is not that great.

Well..this is one of the few cars that are on the Maclaren F1 level. Light, great engine and handling. And so beauty, i guess it´s even faster than the Maclaren F1, for it´s power(the weight is the same).

with that kind of performance, ground effects should be included. why dont they engineer ground effects into these supercars? I dont get it.

You don't know if the handling is any good if it is lightweight it is no guarantee that it handles good. I don't like the car it's the same as the Veyron - OK it has less HP less weight and it is RWD but it has 4 turbos it has a Ricardo 7 gear system and what more. If you are going to make a supercar make your own ideas. It looks like a Koenigsegg, the engine is from Mercedes, they have copied a lot of the Pagani Zonda and the interior looks from Star Trek. This would never beat a McLaren/Bugatti/Koenigsegg/Ferrari/Zonda. Even if it would go into production or be a lot faster (it will still have the Chrysler badge) it won't have the pedigree like the others brands.

There is an article in the latest Car and Driver about it. Apparently Chrysler is going to give them one to test in the future. I'm looking forward to it.
They also mentioned that it makes 1bhp for every 3.5lbs. Versus the Enzo's 1bhp per 5lbs.

There isn't any word on whether or not they will build it, but Chrysler keeps saying they could build it. Which is cool, but I'd rather have a yes or no answer. I hate it when companies say, hey, look at what we built. But sorry, we aren't gonna sell it.


This would never beat a McLaren/Bugatti/Koenigsegg/Ferrari/Zonda. Even if it would go into production or be a lot faster (it will still have the Chrysler badge) it won't have the pedigree like the others brands.


Thats the thing, it's not always the badge that matters. There are people who will buy it cause it's the latest greatest thing. Add to the fact that there will only be a handfull of lucky owners, it's appeal becomes a bit greater.
I do agree however, I'd rather have many cars versus the ME Four Twelve. But I won't say it'll do horrible just yet.

Pagani uses a AMG engine, why didn't you mention that? Koenigsegg used a Ford Racing block as the engine, why not mention that? Lamboghini's use parts from Audi, why not mention that?
Just because they used existing parts doesn't make it any less of a Supercar. All companies do it in one form or another, even if they originally built the part. It still came from a different car.

I have high hopes for the car, but I'm still a bit sceptical. I'd like to see an actual road test before condemning it. It has potential though.

The front is really epic, but the ass seems to be saying "my deigners didn't have any better ideas, sorry". But ther power to weight ratio is good, the 850BHP Quad Turbo V12 will certainly give it a kick.
Does anybody know if this car is going into production ?? Or will it stay a concept ??

I'd say 4 turbos is pretty different from the engine Pagani used. It's not like they went to AMG and said give us the engine you gave Pagani. They couldn't just stick 4 turbos on it and call it done. There was most likely a fair bit of extra work done to the engine. I can't comment on the transmission, I know nothing about it.

VW did build a supercar. It's called the Nardo, and it would have sold if they put it into Production. Not only was it fast, but it was reliable. It broke a few different records.
Like I already said, the badge doesn't always matter, it surely can help though. When it's a supercar and there are only so many of them, then it's exclusive and people tend to like things that only so many people can get.

Offcourse the Nardo will be bought by a few ppl but don't think everybody is going to buy the car. In the society we live in your status is viewed by what you have - that's the world - when you are driving the Nardo and you park your car next to an Enzo the most ppl will look at at the Enzo and the next day they still will.

The Nardo may be a better car (reliability etc.) but the Enzo has more magic. Though I personally don't think the Nardo - it they wanted to sell more than 300 Nardo's - would be completely sold out.

The most ppl who buys supercars don't buy a VW supercar - a brand that everybody has the cleaner of the owner has a VW Golf or whatever - they buy Ferrari's Pagani's etc. The badge in that matter matters a lot.

That is what happens when you want a tad over $1 Million dollars for a car. I honestly think VW could have sold a lot of Nardos, but we will never know.
