As you can see I ran into some other news at http://www.evo.co.uk as well.
Zagato Lifts Lid On Vanquish
This could be the car Aston Martin aficionados have been waiting for. Zagato's interpretation of a Vanquish roadster will be unveiled in concept form at next month's Geneva motor show. But Aston says that it is not currently intending to build it.
Despite being designed from the outset to be spun-off into a cabrio, the Vanquish has so far remained strictly a fixed-roof coupe. However, in light of the huge success of the limited-edition DB7 Zagato coupe and the US-market DB AR1 roadster, it's hardly surprising that the Italian coachbuilder would like to repeat the experience.
As with its DB7, Zagato has re-worked the whole rear end, with new light clusters and a re-shaped tail. It's unclear from the drawings whether - like the DB7 - the Vanquish roadster dispenses with a conventional bootlid and swaps it for a drop-down 'door'. There's no clue yet as to the changes made to the nose, but the DB7 Zagato got a huge 'egg box' grille.
The DB7 Zagato attracted around a 60 per cent premium over the standard machine; a similar calculation for the Vanquish would price this car at £256,000. But there's no doubt that, even as a rendering, it's very appealing.

Zagato is still one of the most original and best design studios IMO. I hope they're going to build it. What I'm not hoping for is that they'll only sell it to America, like they did with the DB AR1. I know, you Americans are deprived of a lot of cars we all get over here, but it would still be a disappointment for me.
