All New BMW 7-Series Official Photos Leaked
No more spy pics, no more renderings, the first official images of the all new BMW 7-Series have leaked onto the web and who are we to hold them back from you. The official unveiling isn't until next week, but perhaps this may spur BMW into action sooner.
Very little was left to the imagination regarding the exterior design, recent prototypes have sported only light camouflage and a recent teaser poster caught at a golf tournament showed the CS inspired headlights. We see from these leaked images, both the front and rear lights will get LEDs and the interior shows us a first glimpse of the updated i-Drive system.
Of course we will bring you full details as soon as they surface, but enjoy these photos in the meantime.
Not much of an improvement..the front didn't change at all from the facelifted one, the back reminds me of korean cars and looks cheap. This car doesn't looks BMW-ish at all..I guess they wore a bit too shy at this one.
Edit: Oh yeah and the front bumper looks horrible, and the grills are too big in compairson to the fron lights.

For some reason most of the recent BMW's have had HUGE looking rear ends...and worse still, this one looks like it has enormous hairy nostrils...definitely not as controversial a design as the previous generation 7, but still not exactly what I would call a fine-looking car.

2009 BMW 7-Series revealed
It’s finally here — the long-awaited redesign to the controversial BMW 7-Series. Photos leaked online today of the luxury sedan, which is expected to make its official debut in a few days, about two weeks ahead of the British Motor Show, where it will be on display.
The new 750i is powered by BMW’s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, which first appeared under the hood of the new X6. The more powerful 760i is motivated by the familiar 6.0-liter V12. To differentiate the two models, the V8 car will sport two square tail pipes whereas the V12 car will use four square outlets.
All models are equipped with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The new transmission will also see the shifter moved from the steering column back to the center console.
Despite having two more gears than the current 7-Series, the new gearbox doesn’t take up any more space than the six-speed and is smoother and more efficient. The extra gears should also help the 7-Series see a six percent bump in fuel economy. The new transmission is also said to be very versatile, meaning it will probably spread to other BMW models, too.
Four-wheel steering will be included on the 7-Series option list, with an all-wheel drive option slated to be offered in a few years.
A new night vision system promises to increase safety for pedestrians. The new system will be able to detect human presence in front of the vehicle and then flash a warning symbol on the display. Moreover, the system will be able to tell if a pedestrian is in the road or safely on the sidewalk, although the it’s not clear how the system can differentiate the two.
The new system is so advanced, it’s also able to read speed limit signs and warn drivers when they are driving too fast. However, this feature will only be available in Europe for the time being.
The big BMW will also be keeping an eye on your speed during inclement weather. The camera can detect fog or rain, and will warn drivers when they are approaching an unsafe speed. Despite the warning, the system has no control over the speed of the vehicle so lead foots need not worry.
Yeah I really don't like the back of the car

The side view looks okay, but the front and back look completely hideous!!!

I could get used to the front, but the back looks exactly the same as the one in the citroën C5, which wouldn't be bad at all..for a korean/jap car.
And it seems (judging by the interior pic) that the lights in the panel are blue now, instead of orange :(

The back looks just like the Lexus LS460. I am sure it is nice to drive, but there are much better looking alternatives out there these days.
all new my ass.. and not a good facelift.. (my only prob is with the rear) i like the current one much better..

I like it a lot better than the last two versions. I really like BMW's Corona rings and their glowing rear lights. And the surfacing's a lot more interesting this time. I like the gigantic kidney grilles as well.
This is the best I hoped for in a BMW, following the Concept CS' design.
These BMW 7-Series front reminds me a volvo

I agree with most saying that the rear is hideous! The design isn't very elegant either - it just looks like a big car.

So disappointing following the CS Concept, its as if they chickened out and redesigned the old one

In the sketchs though the car looks pretty good..its lower and wider just like the CS concept..the actual car its too high and dull.

front end is 6 series ish, tolerable for the most part, may be a grower...but that rear end is as nice as the new porsche carreras....maybe they have the same stylist?

Looks like just a small redesign. Reminds similar to what BMW did when they went from the E32 to E38.
Even the interior looks the same. Definitely don't like the rear taillights though.

It looks like a facelift...not much changed. It just lookst to plain to be a BMW, it doesn't have any character...

It looks great in profile, but hideous when you can see either the front or the back ends. Not a good outcome.
