A slightly unconventional question, but one that could spur some engineering & automotive creativity....
Long story short, my little bro crashed his volvo s80. The cost to repair the thing equals the resale cost of the car, so my dad wants to scrap the whole thing. But the damage is all to the body work, and the engine seems fine.... it just seems like such a waste to scrap the 2.8L I6 twin turbo engine (and all the other working parts). any suggestions as to what i could do? what would you do?

Sell it?

Or keep the parts for a... kit car? That's probably not very economical.

racing. Function > form

At the very least, sell it to someone who intends to harvest the engine and other parts himself. That way, the drivetrain can live on instead of being pulled apart for a few select parts.

I-6...prolly too bulky/long for a lotus seven clone, however if you could shoehorn it in there it would be pretty quick.

I dont think it would go in a Caterham because the layout is wrong, maybe it could be midmounted in an MR2 or one of those awful Fiero things.
